... Absolutely not, it's a hardware issue.

Hi guys,
I have a small problem with the 'R' button. after pressing it a few times while playing a game it stays engaged (the button comes back up but the contact is maintained). because of this i am having to tap it a few times to disengage the contact. how can i sort this? would i need to open up the face plate and LCD screen for that?
Thanks in advance
Cheers!

Only the faceplate needs to be removed to gain access to the L and R buttons.

I removed the faceplate and realized that the 'R' button contact is covered by a rubber mold. was unable to take the 'R' switch out. tried moving it about a bit but no luck. the problem of the switch staying engaged erratically is still there.
any help will be highly appreciated.

There's the old hairdryer trick but even then it's still hard to take off the warranty sticker without messing it up.
