I've had my PSP for a little over a year now. I use it mosty for music and videos, and like to keep it at the latest update. Yesterday I checked for updates (via wireless) and found there was a new one (2.81). I downloaded the update to my mem stick (via wireless), charged up my batttery and applied the update. After reaching 100% on the progress bar, it prompted me to press X to restart. After I did, my PSP is now a brick. Turning up power, the green light comes on for 20 secs, then goes off. Nothing else happens. I will try to call Sony tomorrow. What has been the group's experience if something like this happens? I mean, the 1 yr warranty expired already, but Sony encourages customers to update SW regularly, and there was no indication that doing this would kill my PSP. So, watch out if you're planning to update your PSP anytime soon.
