I called up Best Buy yesterday, and to my luck their was a PSP, open box though. The city was almost out of PSPs. I drove to Best Buy, and there it was, and to my luck it was an I (box code) PSP. Luckily, I also found an unpatched copy of GTA. I would also get 50% off an accessory since the PSP was an open box. The accessory I was going to get was a 4GB MS Pro Duo. I walked over to the cash register. He scaned the PSP in. I told him he forgot the discount on the memory card. He didn't believe me so he went over to the video games department to check. While he was there, I checked to see if it was TA-082, and it was. I also checked the firmware, just to make sure. I was hoping to see 2.6, but it was 3.40. I cursed under my breath. He came back, and I told him that I didn't want the PSP anymore. He looked angry, but what could I do. I was seconds away from buying a PSP that couldn't downgrade. The PSP was probably refurbished. I talked to my friend today, and he said I was an idiot (what a friend).
My friend also suggested that someone should make a Custom Firmware Upgrader. It would trick the PSP into thinking that it is upgrading (which it is). From the Custom Firmware, you could downgrade to 1.5 or other firmwares. Would this work?
