My heart sank ... big time
tried Pandora but all I get is BSOD
well I guess I have to get a new mobo now
I've never had the pleasure of bricking. I'm thinking of wiping the flash0 of one of my PSPs to give my Pandora's Battery an unbrick test. I've only had the chance to use it to downgrade so far. Oh well.. cant be bothered. I'm sure the opportunity will arrise some day.
We all tread a thin line.
ahh I see :)Originally Posted by mathieulh

It sounds to me like you didnt make your MS properly. Have you seen the MS/Battery you used actually load Service Mode on any PSP other than yours?Originally Posted by tx101
If you screw up the install on the MS, putting the battery in will just load a black screen, whether you're bricked or not. Thats how I knew I didnt install it right the first bunch of times I made the MS.
First time was entirely my fault. I decided to use the sceIo API to read/write the entire NAND chip.
Oooops. sceIoWrite isn't very dependable as to WHERE it writes on a block device. It just writes wherever there's "available" space, instead of from the beginning. D'oh.
Second time was with the 2.71 downgrader, I think. One of the early ones that needed an MS dump. I used one of 1.50 with custom firmware. Recovery loaded, but the VSH didn't, and I accidentally uninstalled recovery. Oopsies.
After that, it was all from private experimentation with other stuff.
[I fail @ life]
I almost had a full brick. I was restoring my old theme after a wierd semi brick from "cubed". And I accidentally put my pspbtcnf.bin (or something like that) in the kd folder. I disabled usb and was at "exit" when I thought, "hey wait a sec...." so I went back, slapped myself in the face for doing that and recovered to 1.5.
My first brick was a BSOD (semi). It happened because I installed a theme incorrectly. I fixed it with recovery though.
I have never bricked a PSP fully.
I had 3 at the time but I still freaked a little.
never bricked.... downgraded to 1.5 from m33 to test the pandora's battery last night.. then i installed applecor and filled up the ram, which caused my first ever brick.... my thoughts on how i felt on my first brick... yea!!! i'm safe forever!! even tho, i was always careful in the past by reading the instructions...
which every1 should be always doin anyways...
i had a semi-brick once, but i knew i was either going to get one or not so it didnt matter just had to replace a file :P
I cried when I bricked my psp. then went and bought a second. thats the truth from a 35 year old man....lol
thanks to pandora that frown got turned upside down. :)

Sony Messed up and had to give me a Brand New 60gig PS3, not a refurb
I have never bricked due to me reading instructions.
I did have a semi-Brick when using a theme changer, however, when I tried to do it manually, like suggested, I succeeded without fail. I felt a bit scared because it was a Birthday Present to my self.
On my first brick, I just sorta stared at it. Because i have a 1 year warrenty from gamestop on my PSP.
kewl storeh brah
never bricked but semi bricked a couple of times due to some testing :)
i have only bricked twice the first the wifi failed after the original 2.6 downgrader. that was no big deal just rang sont told them that after i updated the wifi failed and they had no problem replacing it with another psp 2.71(the 2.71 downgrader was released while it was in being replaced) the next i changed a flash file just after recovery mode became possible think that i couldn't brick, I was wrong i didn't really care because it was still under warranty and i had gotten away with it befor.
but when i dropped my psp and smashed the screen i was pissed at my self for being so clumsy.
Spoiler for LOL:
i never had a first brick..only idiots brick there psps
Going by that logic Dark_Alex is an idiot.Originally Posted by kibbles

Oh, yeah, I DO have a new one now, and Dad's gonna try the Pandora's Battery on the old one.
I fired up my psp one day and to my surprise..RSOD:Argh:
I'm not sure how it happened, I've always been careful; I considered parting it out or selling it, but just couldn't since it's a ta-079 mobo I bought when they first came out. I put it in the drawer and hoped one day to get a modchip, or something like this Pandora; which I am eternally grateful to the team for the R&D; now I have but to wait for the batt and stick to be 'fixed' and returned so I can breathe new life into it.
Thank you everyone:dj:
"Haha, what a stupid idea. I bricked my psp."
then i turned on recovery mode and replaced my flashers
