ok first thing is it doesnt void the warranty according to me and IGN
i got a email and they said that its the same thing and warranty [is not voided] and they will still repair it.. also ign got a email simalar
but only the serivce reps said this... not exactly the big time guys.. just the little people said that they will repair it..), but reps for SCEA mentioned to IGN that service reps would now be able to field customer calls on the PSP 2.00 in general since the software is out in America. Because 2.00 is the same in Japan and North America, the Network Updater will not be able to download the official North American release if you already have the Japanese edition (it checks to see if you need an update before you begin downloading.) Those still nervous about having an import version of the software should be able to switch to an official NA version when the next release is made available. Aside from non-compliance with warranty issues (which may or may not be an issue with service reps -- SCEA has not yet returned calls on exactly what this will impact if users have the wrong update), the North American and Japanese releases of 2.00 should be functionally identical.
