I've been out of the PSP Custom Firmware and Homebrew scene for quite some time now. I'm not sure how long it has actually been, but it feels like a year. The current firmware I have on my PSP is 3.03 OE-B.
I'm interested in picking up my PSP again, so I want to update my custom firmware to the most current stable version. Unfortunately, I don't have all the information I need. As such, I have a few questions:
1) What is the latest stable custom firmware that is pretty much the community's preferred custom firmware?
2) I have one of the original FAT PSPs. When it comes to updating the firmware, does it matter which type of PSP you have (FAT or SLIM)? Are there different upgrades which go with each type of PSP? Or will the installer/loader thing cover both types of PSP?
2) A while ago when I decided to just see what some of the current developments were, I saw things which seemed to suggest that to update to the latest custom firmwares, you first have to update to a certain custom firmware version (like 3.73 or something), and THEN you can upgrade to the later ones from there. Is this true, or can I just grab the installer/loader of the newest custom firmware, pop it in my 3.03 OE-B PSP and install it from there?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
