The new PSP GO! system has been announced as the new release for the Playstation consoles. The system will have a sliding screen in addition to the slightly larger screen. When the the screen is slid down the buttons and the analog stick are protected, movies and music can be played with the screen closed. If there is no media being played the screen will display a clock and a calander. When the screen is up, a wide array of buttons including the infamous D-Pad and an analogue stick are shown, allowing you to use them in gameplay and on the XMB®(Xross Media Bar). This will also have inbuilt PlayStation Store® access in the XMB like all the PSP's did with 4.01+ FW. The new inbuilt Bluetooth® functions will allow you to connect to a range of hardware including wireless headphones and keyboards and allow connectivity with PS3 Dualshock® Controllers. The psp will have a maximum clock speed of 480MHz, giving faster gameplay and better improvement to the speed overall, although Sony will still lock the speed at 333MHz. This PSP will actually not have a UMD player, so everyone out there with UMD's will have to somehow convert them or buy the digital format from the PlayStation Store®. It will also have 16gb of built in flash memory for storing downloaded games and other media from the PSStore.
