Default What's up with the GO?

Hey guys,

I’m new here, but I just wanted to drop a line and see what’s happening in the gaming world. Am I the only girl in here, or what?! Lol. Anyhow, I’m a Playstation freak and now can’t put my PSP down. Does anyone have the PSP GO yet? I wanted to see if it would be worth spending $250 or just keeping my PSP and PS3 Anyway, you guys can drop me a line anytime and let me know what I should be playing or check out my blog for info. On all PSP news.

Take it easy!

Welcome to the forum!

The GO is about 1/3 the size and weight of the phat psp with about the saem screen size. It's about the size of a black berry, so it fits nice in your pocket and there's no need to pack along UMD games. Other than that.. It's the same.

I don't know if your willing to pick up basically the same game system you already own, not to mention none of your current games transfer to it.

Sony suckered me into getting one and I'm happy with the purchase.

You said you're happy with it? I guess this is your first PSP then? Thanks for the response!

Awesome! With the economy the way it is, I'll stick with my current PSP. haha. Hey, I don't know if you already did; but I want you to check out the blog I've been doing and see if there's anything in particular you want me to research about PSPs in general.

Talk to you soon!

Issue with the go is I have about 25 psp games all of them japanese and almost not a single one offered in america. Most of these titles dont have download version on psn at all. So its not like im pissed that I cant copy over my games but, I dont even have the choice of selling the umds to buy the downloads at none of the ones I wanna play are downloadable.

I want mostly falcom games and thats it.

As far as I'm concerned, no UMD drive = progress! The GO in my opinion is the best yet!

Oh and to the OP, yes, you may very well be the only girl here

When the GO gets CFW or at least able to C.Hen/Eload and run homebrew you will see the sales numbers increase exponentially.

I don't foresee a huge increase in sales, but is definitely the only way I could possibly even think of getting GO. There are just not enough good points compared to the regular PSP to make it worth a purchase.

Looks like a lot of people love the custom firmware more than the official firmware...

Id have a go already if I could, you know, play the 30 damn umds I have. **** they dont even offer the games I own for download. Sony should of saved the go for much later. They would of needed every game from ever region as downloadable day 1 to win me over. Also would need to be significantly cheaper to get the download version vs the physical copy. Why the hell would I pay $40 for a download of GT when I could buy the umd for $40?

they probably wont do umd to download (if they checked online that you had the UMD) because CFW would find ways for ISO's to work with that. Or people would just borrow UMDs from friends. If they had a UMD replacement program all the 1000-3000 owners, regarlessly if they pirated or not, would make a fuss because they like a physical copy. For sony its a lose-lose situation, they lose money or public opinion would go down even further.

Agreed.

In my country, the first thing the customer asks about is that if the console can be modified. While in the other advanced countries XD, it is the opposite.

could ever offer out of the box.

what about the pandora? theres almost no need to mod the software because its opensource, and it already has 2 analogs nubs, 2 sd slots, when it comes out that would be a for-sure buy for me.

Okay, forgive my slowness, but what is this awsome device of which you speak!
TWO anologue sticks you say!
I thought pandora was a magical battery that enabled all sorts of of goodness on the psp, but it seems you're telling me about some whole new console! I might not downgrade my 6.1 fat psp after all.
Some intense internet research is in order!!

A Pandora battery is what you defined. The real device which is called Pandora is what he said. Here it is.

Thanks again Hassan! you've answered every question that I've posted so far, you're like the Wkipedia of qj.net !
I did find the official site easier than I thought I would. It's just such a shame that things like this are so unknown. I suppose it adds to the whole "I am an underground tech junkie" vibe, but this device seems very promising "indeed". (yes, I said that last part with my unconventional - but toataly legit English accent)...

Does anyone have the GO? I really liked the shoulder buttons on my old psp they had a very nice *Click* when you pressed them but im worried the shoulder buttons on the GO will be mushy. Anyone had a chance to use it?
