Sony have found the way to finally cripple the homebrew/piracy scene on the PSP.
By making it so most of the individual pieces of code on GTA:LS require 2.0 they've finally done what i've been saying they would have to do since this homebrew thing started.
Now they're one step away. All sony have to do is have all the games coded specifically for 2.5 + like gta is for 2.0. Yeah, it will take developers more time, but not much. It will cost sony money, but not as much as they lose to pirates.
Anyways.. 2.0 isnt good enough because people upgrade then downgrade again. But even with this, they've stopped the pirates from playing gta, because ISO's cant and wont ever be able to be played with 2.0 firmware. Because they can only run in kernel mode.
But i dont care about GTA, and im not the only one. A lot of people just wont play it.
But what happens when the final fantasy games require 2.5. And socom. And the best platformers, rpgs, racing games. When every game requires 2.5
You'll either have to lose your homebrew and piracy, miss all the new games or buy another psp.
Sony were always gonna win.
