I have a question that maybe people who've recently purchased a PSP here can answer. I bought my PSP in mid-September (it was a version 1.51, I believe), and the d-pad has a design flaw: it's embedded so deep into the case (and is angled inward from the outside edges in) that it's practically impossible to press a diagonal direction.
So I was at Gamestop today, and decided to try out the floorsample PSP... to find that the d-pad didn't have this problem. It was actually more similar to the directional buttons on the Dual Shock, protruding a little higher, and pushing diagonal directions wasn't a problem at all.
My question: does anybody here who has recently purchased a PSP (as in October or November) have a PSP that has a d-pad like the ones on the Gamestop model? (ie, diagonal button presses work perfectly) I'm interested in hearing from people who have bought a Value Pack PSP, and not a Giga Pack one. Thing is that if all current models of the PSP have these redesigned control pads, I'd like to get one and sell the one I already own.
