I'm tempted to flash my Japanese 1.0 PSP up to 1.5 for the sake of compatibility seeing as 1.5 appears to have been usefull hacked now. The question was asked in this thread:
If it's ok to stick a US firmware onto a Jap PSP, and apparently it worked ok. The only real reason I'd like to do this is to get it to re-arrange the "O" and "X" buttons for selecting things in the menus, and defaulting to an English keypad for entry of text.
Is there any known problem with doing this? Has anyone confirmed any alteration in compability with Zone1 or 2 UMD movies?
That said, where might I find a US 1.5 firmware update PBP?
Any arguments for/against this?
I'm betting GTA will need 1.5, and that's going to be a must-have...
I've just realised what a stupid question this is. There's no such thing as a US 1.5 update file as they shipped with it.
Oh well, maybe when they've hacked 1.51. Maybe I should find a US 1.51 update PBP and leave it on my HDD in preparation? ;)
