I just want to say thanks to those who helped on the 2.6 downgrader as i too had v2.5, so now I could downgrade. And thanks those working on DevHook as it is a very good program that keeps our homebrew littered PSP's like v2.6 firmware. Well Done!
With the downgrader so many of us can now play homebrew games on our PSP's but there is a downside to all of this. ISO loading! So many people now must be able to play ISO's of games that they would have bought. This is very bad for the PSP development because the developers will recieve less money. I feel so happy for those that genuinally wanted to play homebrew on their PSP's like me. Although I dont actually play a lot of homebrew just a few apps and the gba emulator.
But I am angry at those who use v1.5 as a means of consistent ISO loading of games they would have bought. I admit to using it too (daxter) but i felt bad and I bought the UMD and now thanks to devhook 0.43 I can play it on my v1.5 :) I wont use ISO's anymore, I will buy my games like the way we all should. And because its so hard for some games to run and at the end of the day its not worth it.
Also I wish either all ISO's would load with ease and therefore everyone would use them and kill the PSP now. And then Sony will work on another console that didnt allow it. And we just use our PSP's for homebrew (sad I know, but true.)
OR I would want all v2.7+ ISO's to not be able to run on v1.5, this would keep the PSP alive and stop all these cheaters using ISO loaders for good.
What I dont want is whats happening now: Where not all ISO's work and people keep asking the same questions over and over again. And then there are ISO which work and I dont know where the PSP industry is going because we are at a stale mate with Sony: ISO loaders vs Firmware features. Eventually someone will win, dont know who. But thats why I want one of those two things to happen that I mentioned above.
Anyway, thanks to those who brought us these great apps
Thanks for reading and happy PSP ing :) lol
