The Controls of Tama-Run
The Analog Nub: It will move your silver mercury ball around the level. Up goes up, down goes down, etc. etc.
The Directional Buttons:
- Left and Right appear to do nothing
- Up and Down will trigger a little icon in the bottom right hand corner, what it means, is beyond me.
Triangle: Moves the camera to an overhead (ball?) view.
Square: Zooms the camera out
X/ Cross: Moves the camera to a behind view of the ball.
Circle: Zooms the camera in.
L Trigger: Turns the camera in a clockwise rotation.
R Trigger: Turns the camera in a counter-clockwise rotation.
Select: Brings up a min-menu. Use the directional buttons to scroll around the map and it gives a little description of
item in the map. In Japanese of course.
Start: Brings up yet another menu.
-1st Option: Selecting it with X will bring you back to the game.
-2nd Option: Selecting it will restart the game. You must confirm the action with X for it to take effect.
-3rd Option: Selecting it will bring up two options you can change. I have not yet found out what they do.
-4th Option: Selecting it brings you up to the next level.
The Basics of Tama-Run
The goal of the game is to get to the checkered flag in the correct color. The first level for example has you starting on the checkered square but it's in gold. You must travel across the level and go into the 'color-changer', you must then go back to the checkered flag. If someone who is fluent in Japanese knows the actual term I will have no problem changing this. You are also able to split into smaller balls. Loco Roco, anyone? You can also pick up..suns? That is what they look like, they give you extra points. That, is Tama-Run in a nutshell, ladies and gentlemen.
If anyone knows the translations of anything, please tell me. If you feel that I have missed anything important, please, please point it out. I shall give credit where credit is due.
