For me my friend got it 2 days after release. He brought it over with his charger a week later (he dropped his PSP and one of the battery pins on the psp broke off, so he had to use a charger for it to work)(and yes this is the freind that nearly squished my psp if you read my other post), and when i first looked at it I was amazed. Before this the best graphics ive seen on a handheld were GBA. If he wasnt my friend i wudve stole that sucker (jk) .
The first game I saw was dynasty warriors. The graphics and gameplay were smooth and rich. The analog stick also worked much better than i thought. And if that wasnt enough I found out that it could play videos, music, and photos!
You can probably guess that after that I was begging my parents for one but they said no (we arent rich). So on august 29 of that year, I decided to sell my gamecube+ all my gamecube games and accessories. I was scared when i got to gamestop because ive had bad experiences with selling them games before, because theeyre cheap to give you more cash for your games, but in the end it all totaled up to $240. I was so determined I agreed to sell my favorite game (metroid prime) for $0.75!!! I was also surprised that the free game i got (zelda collectors edition) with a subscription of Nintendo power, ended up selling for $35. My dad pitched in the extra 10 dollars plus 40 for a psp game.
