help wanted: building the first PSP mod chip
I have removed this post. the mod is still possible, but it is too costly to be worth the effort.
in case you are wondering it entails removeing the firmware and bios chips from BOTH a 1.5 and other PSP and spliceing them on a mylar strip with a circute board priunted on it. then useing a logical switch you would set it up to swiotch from one firmware and bios to the other.
the mod would work. I can prove it. but I wont because I dont have $500 to just tosas into the brease. reason: I expect the PSP casualty count to be high.
I have gotten ahold of a broken "tester" PSP and I will resume experimentation on it, I will disassemble it and take detailed pictures of it and then I will catalogue the parts on the motherboard in hopes that a dev smartyer than me can use them to make a REAL mod for the PSP.
if you are still interested then read on, otherwise, know that this thread is obsolete as discoveries were made that make the mod ither overly expensive or just plain impossible.
I apolojise if you feel I have wasted your time in any way.
