Alright I have psp version 2.71 . I want to play emulators such as snes, and gba, and NES. I have read basically three ways (my understanding) of how to do this. 1.downgrade: don't want to do this. 2. eloader .99 from noobz. 3. hen c with devhook. I tried the eloader and got the file system to run, but not the emulator I found out I have the patched GTA. I installed hen c and dev hook. The hen c either freezes up or gives me a blank picture. I've tried reinstalling it. I was wondering if using Hen D was just a newer version or what? Should I use Hen D with the dev hook? Why don't you want to downgrade? It's very safe, unless you turn off your PSP in the middle of downgrading.

with the upatched gta, you need to update to 3.03 then run hen for 3.03 through the gta exploit... but you can downgrade straight from 2.71 with Hend and no umd required...since you have a patched gta... hope you arent above 2.80

fallow brad's guide for downgrade, but first update to 2.80- here
then upgrade to m33 cf, gives you the latest features from official fws and the possibility to run homebrew- here

Just downgrade. Then upgrade to 3.40 OE-a if you like customization or 3.51 M33 if you want the latest firmware.

Why would you tell him to do that? HEN was originally written for 2.71 and is a LOT easier to get running than 2.80. Don't upgrade to 2.80. Just use 2.71 HEN-D and the appropriate downgrader depending on what motherboard you have. If you even want to downgrade, that is.

Otherwise use HEN-D with DevHook, but I strongly recommend to just downgrade

He'd want to do that because the 2.80 downgraders have more solid safeguards in place to ensure that if it's a TA-082 or TA-086, it won't brick when he downgrades.

upgrade to 3.50 and use the noobz downgrader.

it's the safest one as of now, cuz it only corrupts key5 in ta-82+ mobos.
