Why would you wan't a bit torrent client for PSP? The PSP's internet speed is extremely slow , and why can't you just use a computer?

I think it would be cool if there was one that would be so portable

Ahhh.... you wanna keep your PSP powered on all the time?
Last time I checked, a BT client needed to be online all the time.... alone that prevents it to be ported to the PSP.

If you want a highly portable solution, look for "TorrentFlux".
It's a BT client that runns on a webserver (coded in PHP and Phyton)! And thus the frontend is a (simple enough) webpage that could also be used from the PSPs browser.

I see how a BT client for the psp could come in handy
some torrents are realy slow, a few kb/sec slow, something the psp could well handle without loosing to much speed
Letting your pc run over night etc just is't that good for your electric bill, but your psp on the other hand uses less power, wich would come in handy for those slow downloads.

yeah sure, let's use a browser based bittorrent client that uses Java, I'm sure the psp will handle that without a problem....

there might have been a bit of sarcasm in my previous sentence

WOW that's funny. uTorrent is coded entirely in x86 ASM, meaning you'd have to rewrite it entirely to port it to PSP.

if the psp can use Bitlet, then theres no need for a client at all. and all these 'p2p on psp' threads can finally die.

uTorrent is written in C++, and is closed source. So, porting it is still unlikely, but would not be the major ***** it would be if it were x86 assembly.

I still think this idea is a bad one anyway: Just use the psp to manage a real BT client via http.

uTorrent is coded with C++.

BT for PSP is really not that convenient... PCs hardly use power, my power bill for 2 months was 43 dollars, including lights and such, and my comp is ALWAYS on.

This really doesn't make sense. Why do you need to torrent things on-the-go? WiFi on the PSP transmits horribly slow, besides. It took like 30 minutes to download the Killzone patch.
-= Double Post =-
OOPS, I guess somebody already said it was coded in C++. Didn't see the above post. Sorry.

That's weird. I definitely remember reading that it was written in x86 ASM. *checks uTorrent site* I guess it is coded in C++. Where did I hear it was written in ASM?

Turns out I wasn't imagining it. I heard it from a generally reputable source (read: a computer nerd from another message board), but I guess he was wrong this time.

Anyway, it might as well be in x86 ASM because it's closed source.

True dat.

With all the good open-source clients, I have no idea why anyone would want to even consider porting utorrent.
