It seem like a Japanese coder by the name of SofiyaCat. made a homebrew, that allows you to play Youtube videos without having to convert or host the files using your computer.

I don't understand any Japanese, so I cant read the instructions or find how to download it. I made this threat to see if anyone can be nice enough to explain to us how to work this Homebrew.

on the looks of it its in Alpha state, but if anyone can help, I, and many other psp users out there will be very grateful.

ALSO, you need a Developer ID, and put it on the psptube.cfg.....

APPLICATION CONTROL
X -to type and search for youtube videos
0 -selects video
R-L -Displays next/previous page
Start = pause
Select = screen size
X = brings u back to video listings(thanx jason_r90)
[NOTE!: when you want to input a search, it inverts "X" is select and "O" is cancel, unless you changed the button configuration in the Recovery menu]

How To's
HOW TO MAKE A DEVELOPERS ACCOUNT!

first, go here http://www.youtube.com/dev
-on the right side of the page click "Developer Profile"
-put your info
-your done! now go back to your Youtube account and click on your "Developer Profile" and you can see your Developer ID (right in top of "Purpose for Using APIs")
-the ID should look like a bunch of numbers and letters

this is NOT an FLV PLAYER, it will actually play videos from YOUTUBE! (just to make it clear)

How to install PSPtube20070805
-download the PSPTube20070805.zip on the link provided
-If you are in CFW look in the zip for a folder named over 200
- drag the "psptube" to the GAME folder in your CFW (BTW im currently on 3.51 M33)
- open the psptube folder and edit the "psptube.cfg" file ( using notepad)
- look for the line dev_id = "" inside the parenthesis if you have a Youtube developer accnt. type the username there.
-save it and start youtubing

Tips and FAQ
Tips:--for people that have successfully search for a video but dont get any videos working...test if your internet is working using the web browser.If the connection is working, then look carefully at the button configuration..it can be a little confusing since it switches from X to O....one more thing...if you keep getting a message "canceling" when trying to connect to a newtork..try pressing O instead of X.
--[tip by JinxDraco]If you have CWCheat installed, make sure you press and hold the L button just when you start-up the application.
This disables CWCheat which somehow crashes all WiFi based 3.x kernel applications (including PMP Streamer, PSPRadio and this new youtube app).

(if you got anytips that you think might be important PM and I will post them)

FAQ:
-No networks available when I run PSPtube, whats wrong?
Open your browser, connect to your network, or an available network.if you have WEP input the pswrd. try to browse some websites, if it working, the name of that network should show up in PSPtube, selected and press "O".

-I cant connect to the wireless.What do I do?
makesure your wifi is ON

-What firmware does the application run on?
1.00 1.5, and all CFW

-I see 3 folders! 200over,150,100 Which on do I use?
if you are using CFW, put the file inside 200over (psptube folder) inside GAME (I have heard also that it works on GAME2XX or GAME3XX) make sure your on kernel 2.XX or 3.XX.)

-how do I edit the cfg file?
open up notepad, drag the psptube.cfg to the notepad window, scroll down, and were you see dev_id = "" (NOT dev_id = "ABCDEFGHIJK")inside the quotation marks type your developer ID, that you learned how to make above. OR you can skip this step entirely by overriding the psptube.cfg with the one that FranzH did(download above).

-it keeps saying "canceling" after I choose my network to connect!
press "O" enstead of "X" when connecting to your preferred network.

-When I press "O" when searching, it goes back to the "no video" screen!
its because it switched buttons because its using your PSP's interface. so you pressed "O" thinking that you selected the Enter button but you actually went back to the "no video"screen. Press "x" when on the enter button when finish searching.

updates for the current versions of PSPtube will be here...i wont post anything right now because I'm really tired, but if you found anything important that should be posted about the new PSPtube 20070812 PM and I will post them..I haven't got a chance to try it yet.

No, FLV's are easily decoded by ffmpeg, and such. You do not need to create a flash player to play a Youtube video.

they are right next to each other.

I get stuck, I am able to load the config file then it takes me to a new screen but it says "No Video", I pressed all the buttons but nothing works.
So how do I search for videos?

If you're still having trouble, try dragging the folder in 200over to GAME352 and load it. That's what I did and it worked

OMFG IT WORKS!!!!! after it says No video, a screen pops up and you have to write a video you are looking for. !...

ok I got it working.
Full speed with sound and I was able to play the Draw a PSP in MS Paint video. this is awesome!
