but again you cant play it..
We REALLY need a keyboard written in this. I hate staring at slackware's login prompt
hi there. i am a big fan of xcom but has yet to complete it.
can some one teach me how to run xcom on psp
also. is the emulation perfect ?
i.e. no frame skip , has sound.
.. keyboard support etc etc.
thanks!!!
OK thankz to blah I can see that this really works...but what is this file open you talk about. I just double click on the c.img file and it opens! I am using the trial version of WINImage 6.10.6100 :snooty:
Alright I think I know what you mean...with the file open thing . Open up the origional program WINimage then do the file...open. I was always double clicking on the c.img file to open it. But even doing it this way does not change a thing. BLAH would you try and work you magic on Heroes Quest ( AKA Quest for Glory) and let me know if you can get it to work...SIR NERMAL as well. You guys seem to have a magic touch.
i found somethin new when i installed WINDOWS 95 when i click CD-ROM drive d:/ i run the UMD so it takes me right to the game, it werid, its like my UMD disc slot is now my PSP's WINDOWS 95 cd-rom drive. i dont get it, can someone else this happend to explain?????
that IS weird..ill try to research :D
lilbart90 can you run any DOS based games by doing this? I might have to give up on FREEDOS and whip out my Windows 95 disks. Hey I am now a senior member....when do I get to move up to PAIN IN THE *** MEMBER? Or I would be even happy to be a Plain 'Ol Dumbass member! :silenced:
i havent tried, i was able to play DOS games on FREEDOS, i was playing breakout before, then it got boring because it was moving really slow
so you were able to use the D-Pad to move the _______ thingy? Maybey my PSP is screwed. My _______ thingy went to the right side of the screen and stayed there....The _______ thingy was the Araknoid type ship thingy. Thingy thingy
I haven't tried putting windows on my psp yet, so I have a couple questions for anyone that has. First of all, how well does it run? Does it lag a lot with speed, and how many blue screens do you get per minute? ;) Also, concerning the keyboard issue, can you use the character map, and do copy and paste functions work? Also, would you be able to run adobe reader on it?
Also, does anyone think there will be any hope of running windows based emulators through this? And if so, would work better than the ones that are currently available for the PSP?
where the hell am I going to get windows 95?! :Argh:
I beleive you can still buy it in well stocked computer stores... or you can search ebay... or aimlessly wonder around garage sales and thrift stores.Zitat:

EDIT:I found these on ebay:
Win95 with manual & keycode in the US
Win95 with manual & keycode in GB
Win95 without manual & keycode
Laird, I've got quest of glory running but it gets stuck at the "PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ILLEGAL COPIES OF THIS GAME" screen.
*sigh* I shut off the PSP improperly and now it's asking me to run scandisk. How long does scandisk take? Can I just delete the Windows 95 off of my PSP and recopy it over? Shouldn't that work?
just sharing some info,Zitat:

back in the old days, a .com file was a dos specific program.
.com in dos means command, .com on the web which means commercial.
Wait, you don't need keyboard access for linux, just get linux with a GUI in
-singleuser mode. Does anyone know if any of the images on the site come with a GUI and how to pass -singleuser in boschs?
What if we can upgrade the hack to windows xp.......... wont that mean we will have all the full speed emus?
just a quick Q... since there is no keyboard support yet for the emu theres no way to use windows 95/98 correct? :wall:
Directed to Darkgamer:
Are you an idiot? Haven't you read ANY of this thread or possibly thought about what the program is that you have installed on your PSP to emulate an x86 system for windows?
You lose at life.

Windows has an accesibility keyboard in the start menu.
but what if theres an error like the one i'm getting "windows did not start properly blah blah blah... please select an option:
1. start windows normally
2. safe mode
3. etc
4. etc
5. etc
Well, doesn't windows automatically choose a choice after a while?
yes, but mine is stuck on the command prompt one.. so i'm kinda screwed at the moment :shhh:
follow this link link to download. (40Kb)

see attached screenshot.
Will the on-screen keyboard work with dos games from windows?
I hope someone gets this really simplified.
SirNermal you rock....I noe have hope....The wonderful dont make illegal copy screen fills me with joy. Is there a sword for the mouse pointer?
No the pointer is still the standard mouse pointer, but there is a dragon-like face?, that I think pops up for the waiting icon.
I got windows 95 working thanks to the guide put once I got it to run the mouse is stuck on the top left corner and won't move, I tried taping the d-pad multiple times.
YEAH ...cant wait to try it,,, but I have to play it on the PC now....2 days of trying to get it to work on the PSP has left me with a jones for Heroes Quest!
Yeah I got the PIRACY PAGE! Thanks to SirNermal and blah! I used their help and finally had to erase my own VM folder off the PSP casue when I just repalced it it would not work...must have been some dumbass file I had that was screwing things up!
Does anyone have a full game working on FREEDOS yet? One that you can actually play?
:Jump: Now we just need some  drivers  and a  virtual keyboard  then we are all set! :Jump:
Piracy Page? what's that?Zitat:
Zitat von laird
P.s.: Triple posting....
Its just the first loading page of the game...saying dont make illegal copies of this game - the piracy page - I highly reccomend just getting this game for the PC its loads of fun ... but there are about 4 versions of it now ...they had to change the name of the game due to legal reasons ...then all the fancy fsmancy VGA versions came out...Loads of fun! but I am old - its not GTA. For its time though it was kickass
Oh that page! :p
if it was implemented into bochs itself, we could run DOS :Punk:Zitat:
