I'm having a problem getting it to run on the PSP. I think I may have my eboot's messed up. I have a 1.5 PSP, and downloaded the basic 1.0 EBOOT and used kxploit to put it on my PSP, but whenever I try and load it, the screen goes black for a few, the memory stick flashes, then it goes back to the main menu.
The image is fine, and according to my config file, everything is where it needs to be. I can't for the life of me figure out why it won't load.
Any ideas?
I really dont get most of this, someone please post a simpler guide to getting windows 95/98 running....
I tried running the virtual keyboard on FREEDOS but it says that it can be run in DOS mode :(
has anyone been able to use the FREEDOS mouse in anygames yet! I have not been able to find any games that dont need some sort of keyboard or mosue input to work?!?
laird, stop double posting. If you need something, edit the other post. Dont just post again.
I think it might need a mouse driver because when I ran No-keys a dos on-screen keyboard, it said no mouse driver found, aborting installation!. Maybe there's a freedos mouse driver that we need?
Honestly, I don't think that this guide can get any more simplerZitat:

what kind of apps can be used ie word excel paint and such. Is the whole program being used or is it just for dos and linux or whatever. Is it really worth using up space on my memory stick?
Here ya go :Zitat:

I wrote this after so many people had trouble following the other guide here. Although mine comes as a result of the guide here, I put this together using my own experience. The entire thread I posted a link to is dedicated to getting win 95 running. If you do exactly as the guide says, you shouldnt have any problems.
If you actually want to do anything with those apps, forget it. Its too early to be able to use the OS for anything productive. It takes about 3 mins to open up Paint. That doesnt include trying to navigate the start menu and clicking on the paint icon.Zitat:

The mouse control is extremely clumsy, slow, and way too cumbersome to use right now. This is basically a cool factor right now. That the PSP is capable of running a full version OS.
Maybe once its optimized in the future, you MIGHT have a use for it. For now, dont waste your time if you think you are going to play games, make spreadsheets, do some pic editing, etc.
Well, some things arent as easy for everyone. There is a crucial step missing from the original guide that was posted here... it had a few people confused, and if I hadnt read the "hard" guide the poster referred to, I wouldnt have gotten it either.Zitat:

There is no need for 3 posts when one would do.
I'm having a bit of trouble on the FreeDos loading screen. I boot the Bochs which in turn runs the FreeDos, however every time it gets to the "C:\game.exe" it stops, then goes to the "C:\" and just sits. Now maybe I'm not waiting long enough for it to load the game, or what, but it has yet to load the DOS game. In addition, the DOS game works perfectly on my home OS, so I know that isn't the problem, also it is only a mere 908kb so I don't believe it is size. I have followed 'every' guide in this thread and none have gotten past this problem, or I should say, all hang up at this one point. So if I could get any help it would be appreciated. Post or PM.
Thank-you,
Bluehaze
i got 95 to run on my psp, but the mouse doesnt move or click, when i try to move it, it shoots up to the top right and wont move after that, right click worked once but not since the first time i tried it
i just got mouse support working with freedos .. and dos games..
and are you going to explain how, or are you going to just say this as a z'look what I did, nah nah, nah nah!!" type thing?Zitat:

If that is the case, then I am not likely to believe it
Im pretty sure someone explained it in that sonypspspot link that F34R posted. Thanks for the link. Its helping.
i just installed CuteMouse driver v2.0..

now, to clarify, which files do i need to download for freedos to work? is there an executable in the disk image?
Well, maybe I'll just read the entire thread, and answer everyone in one post. Just trying to help out. Its easier for people to see their name at the top of a post, than to read an entire post to see if their answer is there.Zitat:

As to your post, I'll do better.
I am working on a windows 98 c.img and wonder what its size should be? Is 512mb too big or about the right size?
I can tell you that 300MB was too small.Zitat:

So 400 to 500 is about good size i guess.
Nice work homie!!Zitat:

anyway it works...
sweet! :D
blah, could you give me a link to where you found that on screen keyboard, I've been trying really hard to find one and none that I found work, thanks.
its called My Key Mouse..
http://www.safesite.com/product.php%...teID%5Ddigibuy
you need a mouse driver installed on your psp to use it..
I have cutemouse driver installed, but when I click the upper-left corner it does nothing. Am I doing something wrong?
Edit: It poped up for a second then dissapeared, now there is a red bar in the upper left corner.
ya thats one thing that sucks about it...you have to wait a bit..and push buttons..ALOT..it dosnt work right away..
and when you do get the mouse moving..you have to kinda tap it ALOT..ha
edit..the red bar is the pointer..
edit again...i disabled the original mouse pointer..
How did you disable the original mouse pointer?, thats probably the problem.
add this to your bochsrc.bxrc file
mouse: enabled = 1
When I click on a letter, it does nothing. I'm close to using it but no cigar. :snooty:
now all you need is a text editor or something...thats all ive tryed..
edit..it does work though..
but still either way its still terrible...the mouse control is a pain in the ***...
What do you mean by an editor? I tried another on screen keyboard (no-keys) but the mouse doesn't seem to work :(
Edit: Does this mean that this only works with text editors, does it work with dos games?
i tryed larry 1 but it didnt work...but the mouse worked with games like kings quest 4..
edit..heres mine if you want to try it out. (its with a text editor)
http://www.angelfire.com/psy/inmyhead/VM.rar
if you can make it there..you have to go.. file..new... to be able to write anything..
Yikes, the mouse control is almost impossible to use, I'll try and find another one.
BTW, you don't need the test.bat's, just list the program you want to open under the previous one in autoexe.bat. ;)
oh ya..i know... i was just learning dos commands..im a "noob" remember..
the "CALL" command..
