Windows 95 for the PSP!!! Discussion thread

Interesting emulator. I got the Linux up to the login root part. If we could get it to run faster and be able to run games like Zelda Classic (from www.zeldaclassic.com) and write text documents, this could be a great innovation!

emulation isnt really an option for running linux on your psp. It really needs to be ported for it to work properly. But this is a nice little gimmick anyway.

for some reason my mouse doesnt work at all. I can right click, left click etc, but I cant make the mouse move.

sigh... you wont be able to run any emu's using windows.. psp isnt powerful enough to run x86 emu, windows 95, emu, and the rom

You have to keep tapping the d-pad for it to (slowly) accelerate. At first I was tapping the mouse button at the same time, for some reason that helped.

It gets easier after a bit of experimentation :Jump:

wait wait it does but my god is it hard to use. And down doesnt seem to work unless i slide the mouse all the way to the right then move down

Immidiatelly after, as in even before the mouse picks up speed. This trick will prevent the cursor from flying past your intended target.

i got a dos game working. Well i got it to start.

I got Win95 to start (in safe mode) and I doodled in Paint a little. Gonna see if I can get Win3.1 to run now, it will probably be considerably more responsive.

mine started in safemode first, so i ran it on my pc so it would start up properly. Then put the image back on and it started fine.

did you use these guides? There not very helpful, i wasnt able to get anywhere, just making the C.IMG from the CD-ROM drive. And then that was it, i just dont get how im supposed to make this work.....

Yeah, I am stuck too, every time I run the w95.bat i get a >>PANIC<< error.

Mine mine windows 95 is looping, it starts ok to the loading screen but it comes back and ask to enter in safe mode. Since I can't do any thing I wait 30 sec and it starts. But it keeps looping like this.

Can anyone help me?

Can any one post a link to a c.img of freedos that has more than just 10 Mb

Yeah i got the same error it saide it was due to the cd rom directive i changed it to what it wanted and i'm still getting the same error.

:Argh: I have spent way to much time working on this FREEDOS program. I think that it will not run any Sierra games (Quest for Glory). I :Pray: that I am wrong but if someone can get any Sierra games to work PM me or send a good old fashioned email to [email protected] and explain to me how you did it!

i installed bochs on my psp and it works fine but on free dos it just ends up in c:> since theres no keyboard function i dont know what to do and on the linux it says 41X login i need help loging into windows???

did you use FREEDOS? if so how the hell did you do it. I have studied DOS for years ( its the only real way to play with Windows when it screws up) and I cant get it to work.

How did you get past the ROOT FAT_ loading bit?
