Default no 3.80 m33 if you don't have a battery.

i have 3.71 m33-4 fat, the battery has been sacrificed to the psp gods ala one way ticket. i still have my power cord. but when i tried to upgrade it told me that i need to have at least 76 percent battery life??? i also tried using weltalls power control to disable the charge function thinking that it would disable the need to be at a certain percentage since it's plugged to the wall and all. But i'm guessing you need a bat in order to not charge it, lol. the obvious is to buy a new one, but is there a way around for now until then?

1) boot up psp withpowercord
2) slip the battery inside
3) let it charge
4) run the update

work?

just buy a battery. a good extended-life one is like 30 bucks.

Yeah, looks like i'm going to have to buy a new one after all. I think i'll be going for the X2 batt. and my original battery ended up in the washer, then the dryer. Amazingly enough it didn't explode. Good news is that i still got the circuit board and the case, the little plug. it's all in perfect condish, it's just all in seperate pieces, not broken, just seperate. and even then, i made my pandora batt w/o another homebrew psp thanks to a ben heck. But with the lack of a soldering iron i couldn't make it back into a regular batt. but now i can use those pieces, purchase an iron and try out the AAA mod.

If you're going to buy a battery, be wary of third party batteries. I've heard stories of exploding batteries. There was an article awhile back about one of these instances.

you're not going to need a new battery... the guy a few posts back almost got it right.

1. boot your psp with the power cord
2. put it your pandora battery and charge it
3. unplug the power cord
4. run the update.

it worked on my slim.

isn't there a way around it...? Like holding R and triangle at the same time while loading the update or something? Maybe it's not for this particular firmware, but I know you can do it to some others.

I thought it was L and triangle. That worked on previous firmwares. If it uses the sony installer though it won't work.
