As you all know, Go!Explore has been leaked (Version 0.08)
I'm struggling with Go!Explore for more then 30 hours now. I'm trying to get more maps on it. In theory it's extremly easy as this software (NavNGo Go!Explore) uses the same maps and landscape information as NavNGo iGO 8 and MioMap.
Looking in the iso, the structure is revealed. It's a match! Almost identical to the PDA/PNA version of the program. Same files, same places, same bytesize for the UK, Ireland and basemap files.
So-> thus, the theory: Put some more fbl files (maps) in the MAP directory. Yea.. cool, but the device ignores them.
Searching searching searching... there is a file in an arhive (data.zip) in config directory, named preload.ini, which i think is some kind of indexing for the working files.
Nothing more easy! you say.. Just put some more indexes and files and you're done.
Well, this is the point where everything falls apart. Because, UNLINKE the PDA/PNA version of the program, if you change anything... anything at all in the data.zip (even if you change a character that is part of a commentary in a text file) the program fails to load (after repacking with umdgen).
Another observation i did in the last ten ours of crowling through binaries and config files, is the existance of two files (unlike on PDA/PNA): READHELPER.IDX and READHELPER.DAT.
for what i can tell, these files "helps" loading the program, as they contain address pointers for some probably highly accesed parts of big files, so the software works faster. It really is that because if you delete them, the software still works 100% but a bit slower (i think that the speed difference might be a lot bigger if loaded from UMD, i'm working from .iso file).
So, everybody, anyone... any ideea would help... Please, i'm going crazy on my own here.
Nope, no help. This is piracy.
