Default Definitely confused. (Firmware stuff..)

Please excuse me. I'm pretty much new with this PSP Custom Firmware stuff.. And I'm lost.

I got my hands on a friends PSP today, and it was version 3.50. So I'm just like, "YES, I can downgrade it! Then I can make a Pandora's battery and get mine all set up!" And so I did. I got it to firmware 1.50!
..Then afterwards, I didn't know where to go from there. So I checked around, and the only thing I found (So far, that was..) was 3.02 OE By Dark_Alex.

So far: 1.50>3.02OE

Later on, I was questioning myself about Pandora's battery. I wanted to make it, and leave my friends PSP not up-to-date. (Selfish, I am.)
So I've been looking it up. So far, nothing. The "The Perfect Pandora's Battery Guide" isn't working, because one of the downloads isn't there anymore. (The GUI Download.)
I looked around the site, and MANY MANY other sites.. I tried things (To my memory stick, nonoftheless), but I haven't found a site that worked. So I got sick of it. I don't know anything about the whole "1.50 Kernels" or any of the technical stuff.. I only know the simple things like Recovery mode.. This recovery mode doesn't have the whole Kernels option.

I wanted to update to the much higher firmwares, like 3.90M33.. But I don't see where I can go from 3.02OE.
I tried downloading 3.40OE.. Which, failed several times (Game Failed to start error). I think it was because that I had to use my Memory stick for the pandora battery thing, when I had to Format it. (I backed it up, though.)

...I'm lost, and confused. I would like to get some information by tomorrow, or else this guy's going to kill me for his PSP back. -_-;

Is there anything I'm missing, or messing up on?

Some games, newer ones, will not work on 3.40oe. Also, you may need to reformat your memory stick from the settings menu, backup important saves and data first. There are requirements for installing 3.9m33-2, you may have to install other custom firmwares to get there. I believe you have to be at least on 3.52m33 to install the newest custom firmware.

Thanks, I'll try that out and let you know what I need to get from there. I just found the whole "1.50 Kernel" thing on the recovery menu. (Aye, tis hard getting used to..)

From 1.50 firmware, you'll want to install 3.52-m33 and updates, then install 3.71-m33 and updates, then install 3.90-m33 and updates and 1.50 kernel for 3.90m33, set UMD mode to Sony Driver 9660 for best no-umd emulation

Stay on 3.71 M33 if you want a lag free memory stick.

Agreed. Dark_AleX released a 3.71 fatmsmod patch for 3.80m33-3.90m33 to correct the 4 through 8gb ms issues.

Upgrade to 3.52 M33-4. Then from there upgrade to 3.90 M33.

Or you could just use DCv4 and go straight from 1.50 to 3.80M33 and then upgrade to 3.90 M33.
