my psp is 1.5 firmware, fat psp without any gold numbering behind the plastic umd tray and i am wanting to upgrade to dark alexs newest custom firmware 3.90 m33 because for the time being i have used the latest devhook but it only does so much and i wan

t to do more

Upgrade to 3.52 M33-4 then 3.90 M33-2.

If you want to play PS1 games on your PSP then it will be useful to you, but if you are a newbie the files needed for it to work might be a bit hard to get.

you don't need any files. its built into the firmware.

May of been worth to mention that some firmwares have increased and decreased compatibility for some games. I have always thought the 3.52 prx compatiability is the best.

true but most games (at least all that i have played) don't require the lenghthy (and non-noob friendy) process of setting up popsloader.
