2.00 is suppost to be hacked Sept. 1st. Yup. I don't think it'll be hacked, but just downgraded.

if i heard correctly it was 1.52 that is able to be downgraded to 1.50 and not 2.0 > 1.5 ... but we shall see

yes, at the moment yoshiro has only been able to hack 1.5x (actually 1.52
because he couldn't find a 1.51)

also any people picking up their psps today in Europe, Australia, or New
Zealand don't upgrade using the demo disk. This will result in not being able to
use the downgrader and thus homebrew, (if at all possible since yoshiro is going
to test with a euro psp)... and if you have any games requiring 2.0 (dunno if
europe games require 2.0 fw) you can always wait and after the
downgrader is released you can use yoshiro's fw patcher

2.00 probably won't be hacked for about 2 to 3 months or longer, this is my personnel opinion regarding the state of things.

The thread starter is referencing KingofNoobs' sig. He was either motivating himself or joking (at the time he had an idea about a hack using gamesharing).

This had nothing to do with the downgrader.

If the 1.5x downgrader is true then i expect a 2.00 downgrader will come well before a 2.00 hack. And will probably be the early jap 2.00
A 2.00 hack will not be about a for a long time (if ever) see how long 1.5 took and 2.00 is much more secure

I for one don't care how long it takes them to do it. I can live with my web browser and games for now. Heck, the PSP is FOR games and people keep worrying about homebrew and 1.50 and 2.00 etc too much that it sounds like they never use their PSP at all.
I can also live without dumb noobs on forums like this going "OMG Y DID U UPGRADE IT WILL BE HAXORED NEXT WEEK. I CAN PLAY HOMEBREW AND U CANT LOZER HAHA. I HAVE 1.50 IN UR FACE 2.00 PEOPLE LOLZ".

i cant agree with you more man. I also upgraded my JP PSP to 2.00 and i LOVE it. Alright, so i cant play NES and SNES games...yea, like thats going to happen if i could play them :P

It's a rumor, i dont think 2.0will be hacked for a long time.And it doeasuck having a 2.0 web browser big deal. it's slower than a pc, backgrounds it IS better than pspersonalize(which i will never use).The ATAC3 on pro duo, its an over priced mp3 player.and AVC is better than mp4 but the differnce only stands out in high quility movies.now homebrew is very fun. snes, nes, genesis,neo geo, and a ton of other stuff, they make the psp fun, the normal gamesare good, like vrtual tennis, RR, wipeout and coded arms, but they ALL get boring after a week or 2.

just extract the browser code from 2.0 update.. then you have 1.0 w/sony psp browser. only time will tell though..

I really don't get how people are saying "yeah, 2.0 hacked/downgraded on the XX of September/October" "downgrade in 2006" etc.

Sure, use targets to motivate yourself if you are actually working on hacks/downgraders, but lets not try to "predict" when the hacks will emerge.

They'll come when they come, when someone (my bet's on Yoshi ) sits up and says "OMFG, I've downgraded 2.0" (or the french equivalent)

I'm pretty sure that the 1.52 downgrader was/will be a memory stick swapping technique, modifying the 2.0 update. 2.0 is pretty much uncrackable because there was no REAL update to it (just some confusing stuff, which won't work for the USA or PAL 2.0'ers, just the original JAP's.

All 2.00 firmwares are the same - when the US 2.00 update came out, it was compared to the Japanese 2.00 update, and was found to be identical in every single way, right down to the info hash.

There were 2 Jap 2.0 updates.

The one I have, the early one, released before the US 2.0

And the updated Jap 2.0 (which replaced my one on Sony's site) the same day that the US one was released, which may have more security added.

There are definately two different Japenese 2.0 updates.
