I've just got my Jap 1.50 PSP, I'm in the UK and my mate arrived today with his brand new UK PSP 1.52 which he updated to 2.0 with the demo UMD that came with it, he now has a rather excellent little web browser and I don't!!

I don't want to upgrade to 2.0 jsut to have a web browser so I'm wondering if there are any homebrew web browsers available for 1.5 ??

There are a couple, first there is the 2ch browser coded by "Mr.44". Its still in the early development stages so don't expect to get much from it at this point in time. The other browsers available are ripped from UMD's, this constitutes as piracy and therefore you wont find them here.

About the most help I can give you with the best 1.5 browser is that it is known by the name "tenchi browser". You should be able to get it from this.

Don't the ripped browsers need firmware 2.0 to run?

If they required 2.0 firmware then it would be impossible to run them.

the ripped tenchi browser, of which you could probally find with a little "google" creativity, reqiures no particular firmware and works MUCH better then the alternative Wipeout browser.

Sorry, I could have put that better...

What I was asking is...will the official browser supplied with 2.0 require 2.0 firmware to work, hence making it a pointless install?

Although if the 2.0 ever gets hacked, a possibility of a hacked Sony web browser may not be too farfetched. however, as of yet, ONLY 2.0's can use the official PSP webbrowser.

Why is the tenchi browser better than the wipeout one ? are there any portals that impliment some sort of back button?

Tenchi browser is faster than the Wipeout browser and can visit more sites. Currently we dont have a back button on it but people are working on it.

This could of been resolved by using search, not searching before creating threads is a violation of the rules... Its simple, JUST USE IT!

Ok so for browers usable on 1.5 there are the wipeout, tenchi, and 2ch right? and the tenchi is the best?

I don't really care if i have a 2.0 browser or a WipEout browser for the simple reason I am ON THE INTERNET LOOKIN READING AND POSTING STUFF lolz it has no need for me at the present time lolz (i do however have a WipEout browser which i use when i cant be bothered to open up my laptop
