its impossible for this hack not to work because its using your internet connection, if you cant figure out how to setup the connection on the psp, simply open your windows hosts file and alias the wipeout's page to something else like google or whatever

I would imagine that they would have covered this hack up by the European launch so i wouldn't expect it work and I've heard no reports of anyone getting it to work either. I suggest waiting to see if a downgrader does emerge and then you can use the Tenchi browser.

Yeah a friend and I got EU(netherlands) Wipeout today. And he tried the browser hack. But no luck at all... that sucks He has (eu)1.52 psp. and doesn't want to upgrade to 2.00. Because of the 1.5x downgrade talk.
So yeah the hack is covered up, but maybe there is another way to get the wipeout browser to surf to other pages...

I can also confirm it does not work... I have a 1.50 US PSP, and I tested ISO of Wipeout US, JAP and EUR all on the same system with same settings. US and JAP worked fine, EUR just sat at a gray screen... The US and Jap versions of WO are connecting to an HTML webpage, but the EUR one connects to:

http://hub.psnexus.net/ingameservice/redirector.jsp

Maybe the script sends something to the PSP that makes the browser actually start up... I tried connecting to the site with Firefox (agent switcher), and got an error...

I guess there's reason for people in Europe to import a Japanese or US Wipeout game.

regarding your agent switcher, try using the one from the socom beta tests using IE..

it might work!

PS. I would try, but IE doesnt "function" on my pc..

Go search for "Ad-Aware SE" or "Microsoft Anti-Spyware". That will fix IE.

Check my post above, I've already been using the ISO for the Eu copy. It connects to

http://hub.psnexus.net/ingameservice/redirector.jsp

so you can probably just replace that with

http://67.171.70.72/wipeout/index.html

And it will connect to the Fugimax portal automatically, but the problem is most people in Europe can't run .ISOs... Yet.

Doesn't the EU version of wipeout connect to a different server which might have a diffferent file structure? Thus the folders etc would be different from the portals set up to work with the US Wipeout Pure

Actually, the server it ends up connecting to is exactly like the US one in terms of the website design and file structure... It just seems that the Eu Wipeout insists on going through that Hub redirect to get there, so it's got to be sending something to the PSP, and if the PSP doesn't get whatever that is, it just hangs there waiting...
