Hey,
Tryed out WAB version changer on my 1.0 tonight but with no joy. I used PSPbrew to create a 1.0 eboot but all i get is a corrupt image when viewing on my MS.
Any ideas? never had issues with PSPbrew converting stuff properly before...

I'm confused - is your PSP a 1.0 or is it just tricked into thinking it's a 1.0? Please be more specific with what you've done and what's not working.

Sorry, would have thought my sig was a bit of a give away.

I have a 1.0 Jap psp.

I am trying to run Wab Version changer, it will not function at all.

I have used psp brew to change the wab launcher from its realeased 1.5 version to my 1.0, however when i install this altered wab version changer, i get "corrupt data" error.

I couldn't get sei tool to work, but then stumbled upon a post by Radius who said that:

In command prompt:

copy /b eboot1.pbp+eboot2.pbp EBOOT.PBP

where eboot1 is the file from <dir>% and eboot2 is from <dir>.

I was able to load the app fine using the copy command, but haven't changed the version yet. Worked fine for quake and dualtetris too which I was having problems with.

This would be quite useful to have appended to the homebrew FAQ.

I don't really understand you, but I don't think u can trick the psp into thinking it is a 1.0 when it is already a 1.0 You need to trick it to a higher firmware number.

hscbaj is probably having the same problem as I had where the WAB version changer doesn't even load. Alot of 1.5 software doesn't work on 1.0 unless it is converted to 1.0 format.

I don't understand the details, but 1.5 has 2 PBP's, 1.0 only the 1. Therefore to run the software, it's need converting to run on 1.0. Once this is done hscbaj will be able to trick the PSP into being version 1.52/2 or whatever.

I highly recommend upgrading to 1.5 (find the file in the UFAQ linked in my sig.), as more things run with it. There's no real reason to keep 1.0 now as most things are created with the 1.5 eboots premade.

thanks, however I did say in my first post that I have tried to convert the none "%" dir using pspbrew to create a 1.0 eboot but with no success

and no i dont want to upgrade to 1.5 whilst i dont have to. At the moment there should be nothing that doesnt run on 1.0 that does on 1.5 without a little effort, however should something come out tomorrow that only supports 1.0, i shall be laughing... whilst i have the option, ill remain at 1.0.

Oh, I got ya. I thought you were saying that the version changer wasn't working like it was supposed to... now I understand that you can even get the program to run on a 1.0.

I know it can be done, I'll look around and let you know if I can come up with what might be the problem.

I got it to run on a Jap v1.00 by going to command prompt and:

copy /b eboot1.pbp+eboot2.pbp EBOOT.PBP

where eboot1 is the file from <dir>% and eboot2 is from <dir>.

...then use the created EBOOT.PBP in the standard dir.

I got it to run on my Jap psp 1.0 by deleting the <dir> and renaming the <dir>% to <dir>. I then copied the renamed <dir> folder to the game folder on the psp.
