Alright, I got a PSP recently (slim) and had a friend mod it for me (I don't know if that's the right terminology, keep in mind I'm brand new to this) -- he installed snes9xtyl and I downloaded a bunch of roms. Most of them run great except for the only one I really want to play -- Super Mario RPG.
I've googled for literally hours and cannot find a solution to get it to not run so choppy. I've tried at least 10 different versions of snes9xtyl, the newer 4.2 versions, the 4.2 ME version, the brand new SCM (or however it's spelled) test versions from some Japanese developers. I've tried versions that included speedhacks, I've tweaked all the settings on any version I've tried. NOTHING is working. The game is still choppy. I've read that people are able to get it to run flawlessly, and I'm desperate for that. So if someone can tell me what I need to do, I'll PayPal them 10 bucks.
I have a PSP slim and under system settings > system information it says
System Software : 4.01 M33-2
I'm willing to install other firmware if that's what is needed to get this to work. Please help. Thank you.
