Default PSP 2000 LCD in a PSP Phat

So I've been reading through these forums for the last few days and haven't seen anyone ask about, or attempt this.

I just ordered a PSP Phat with 3.71-MM3-2 on it from ebay, it should be here this week. I was wondering, is it possible to install the PSP 2000 Slim LCD in a PSP 1000 Phat? If not it isn't a big deal, but I thought it would be cool to have the nicer LCD in the older PSP. Thanks!

you should look up some tutorials on "Taking apart a PSP" for both Slim and Phat PSPs.. and try to look for the ones with images, so you can get an idea of what they look like.. but it all comes down to compatibility, the ribbon-cable being the right length/width/angle, and the voltage differences if any, and mounting position and fastener position etc..

id say "why not just try it out" but theres more to be studied when moving components from different appliances/devices.. for example like moving a P4 CPU into a newer machine.. the voltage, motherboard, socket-type, BUS speeds, compatibility, all come into play.. and the same applies with moving a new component into an old machine..

anyway, look up some more technical info if you are serious about doing it, you dont want to fry your PSP or the LCD..

Thanks for the info. Everything I've seen would appear the slim LCD only works on the Slim PSP.
