Default Need your help big time!!!

Hi guys, I am very new to this homebrew thing and I followed the whole process described in this website about downgrading from 3.5 to 1.5 using Lumines game. I did that successfully. Then I installed CFW 3.52 M33. After that I updated to 3.53 M33-4.

Then something stupid happened afterward. I went to format my PSP memory stick. Now the entire memory stick is empty.

This is what it show inside the memory stick after format: G:\

Then inside PSP, this is what it showed: G:\PSP\
Need your help big time!!!-memory-stick-2.jpg

Everything you see from here on is empty inside each folder.

My question is whether this is consider brick PSP? Although I can still turn on and off no problem but I just can't play any game unless it's original UMD game. What can I do so that I can play game? I was not once successful played any game. I downloaded an ISO game file and put it inside the ISO folder. I can see the game in the game folder, but when I select it, it say that the game won't start. So I haven't even had a taste of a working CFW yet!! Sad....please give me some hint on what I should do....a million thanks!!!

mate you have done everything correctly. formatting the memory stick erases EVERYTHING on the memory stick, not your PSP, so that isnt considered a brick.. a "bricked PSP" is when your PSP wont boot at all and you cant enter recovery menu... formatting the memory stick inside the PSP creates all those folders automatically.. so you have done everything correctly except back up your SAVEDATA folder... and that is merely an annoyance as you need to begin all your game careers again.. otherwise its fine.

the problem with the ISOs could be a number of things..

enter the recovery menu (switch off completely, then hold the right trigger while powering back on) then go into Configuration and set the "UMD Mode" so that it says "Sony NP9660 -NO UMD-"..... exit that menu, then exit recovery menu. your PSP will restart and then try to load that ISO again.

your firmware (3.52 M33-4) may be too "old" to run the game you are trying to play.. for example the new games may need 5.00 firmware to run, therefore your firmware is "too old"... if the game is old you should be able to run it.. maybe google the game and check what update its supplied with (if any)... im using 3.71 M33-4 and i havent come across many that dont work on that.. so maybe update a little bit further..

try renaming the ISO file so it has a shorter filename.. some earlier firmwares have trouble loading files with long filenames.. for example, a file called "Need For Speed UnderCover Full Game USA Version" will have problems, so rename it to "NFSUC usa full" or something and it should then work..

if i think of anything else il add it, but hopefully one of these tips will help ya

good stuff mate.. you do realise that you pretty much fixed it all yourself, i just made some suggestions.. so give yourself a pat on the back

all of us.. ALL of us.. were new at this stuff at one stage, and everyone learns this stuff gradually, so dont feel as though you are limited to what you know.. it only takes a minute to find a good tutorial or to ask someone a question.. and then we are wiser.

so be happy in the knowledge that you have done something YOURSELF, and that same something often baffles people to the point that they give up..

anyway.. enjoy your freshly "freed" PSP.. get into all the homebrews, plugins, a crapload of new media types.. the list goes on.. have fun

One word of advice...

Pandora....

Create yourself a pandora battery for back up as soon as you can get your hands on an extra battery. Once you have a pandora battery I would upgrade to 5.00 M33-3 and if you happen to brick the PSP in the process Pandora is there to save you.

thats a good point.. its like a "rescue disk".. with a Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick, you can simple re-flash your firmware and avoid all those steps you took with the downgrading etc..
