though what it DOES show is that somehow, WAB's gotten unsigned code to run on 1.51+ PSPs. so thats incredible in itself, but it still doesnt show a downgrader being run.Zitat:
Zitat von Dangerous Dan
It shows clearly that it is able to start a custom app witch is for the 1.5 update on a firmware version that doesnlt allow it.
Why would they show it actualy working? that would just piss people of, as they moan "why dont they release it then if its working"
So stop talking crap. :liar:
If this is nothing then make a 1.5 Update get up to that point on a 2.0 i dare you :PC:Zitat:
Zitat von Dangerous Dan
people would understand if they didnt release it. WAB just doesnt want to brick thousands upon thousands of PSPs. id rather know that a working downgrader is being worked on than rather having false hope on one that does not work, which is being demonstrated to me thus far.Zitat:

Correction
We'd Understand
Every other n00b *** on this site would flame yoshi for not releasing it :humped:
a hi res video of a psp not being downgraded. awesome!!!
That video means jack **** just like all the rest, all he proved there is that he can focus a video camera
Dream on people, just go out and buy a 1.5 and stop giving this prick money he is playing us all for fools
My last post EVER
What Yoshi does outside these forums has got nothing to do with me.Zitat:

Dark_AleX we all know your opinion on Yoshi, you have said it in atleast 40 posts, therefore there is no need for you to continue to spam it.

yeah, but if they released a buggy one, they'd flame yoshi for bricking their PSPs. so i feel bad for the whole PSPdev team and WAB right now. its a lose-lose situation no matter what they come out with. the PSP community is never happy. what everyone on this site needs to do is go study computer science at a university for a masters degree, and then make their own stuff. this would make the community much more happy and easygoing.
My point exactly :Jump:
and thank god CombatOZ will never post **** like that again
The amount of space left on the memory card changes before the downgrader is launched, compared to afterwards. Also, something seems to happen at 1min 7secs on the edit - the compression artefacts on the black screen change totally. Maybe an edit point?
Perhaps a card swap is done?
That was some funny **** at the end with the middle finger, because it came up on my and i didnt know what it was at first then i relized, that was funny... Anyway that looks real, and i believe, DOWNGRADE ALL THE WAY *****!!!!
he swaps the memory sticks at the black screen.
hence the MB difference at the end
Before running the program, free space in MS was 17MB, after that, free space is 15MB. Where are the 2MB remaining? May be another (console) swap method?
I think that if Yoshi it's able to change the displayed version firmware, it's also able to change the MAC address, making us think that it's the same console, synchronize the displayed time and the battery charge it's not very problematic...
Also, what's the needing of use background music? May be to help him in hiding the swap?
Another thing.. the red light which you can watch in the screen disappears for one moment.. cut&paste place?
And........ at 1:05s, MPEG compression changes/video quality changes dramatically, 1st part it's more noisy than 2nd
part!!
*What a big lie*
Oh my f****** god, I think some of these guys are not even satisfied if the downgrader itself would be released. Just understand that these guys are bringing us the greatest stuff. However, why would a downgrade be necessary if you can run unsigned code on 2.0?
Its a hacked update, thats all it is, its not a running unsigned code, or anything, its a just a hacked update, thats the only explination.
just hope ffs :P
we all want a downgrader... so
if you all want one... let us keep ouer mouth shut and wait, and see
and if he ever brings an downgrader out, he is a good guy
if not we will hunt him down on the net ... no no just kiddin
he's bad then :P
its like this, if they had a working version of a downgrader then they would post a video of this working. everyone would understand them not releasing it straight away due to dev/testing purposes etc.
i also understand there would be a lot of noobs 'demanding' the release and asking why they have not done so allready if they have released a video of the downgrader working etc.
as i said before the video proves nothing, its like the emporers clothes.
also to people saying 'well why dont you create a downgrader if you think blah blah blah'. well i admit i could not program one, its as simple as that yet i know a con when i see one.
escroc
edit: PLEASE PEOPLE, DO NOT DONATE MONEY TO HIM!!!
If you dont think its true. Leave. I did that LAST NIGHT on my PSP. No joke...it scared the crap outta me so i pulled the battery out.
Some of you guys really need to stop complaining if you can't do any better. What would you guys be doing now if Yoshihiro and WAB never mentioned that they were working on a downgrader. You'd be complaining for someone to release one of find an exploit in the newer firmware. Constructive criticism is one thing, but to continually bash someone for their efforts when you're not even making any is another. For those of you who think it's no big deal to run a 1.5 update on a 2.0 why don't you go ahead and try for yourself. It'll do what, say you have a higher firmware installed than you are choosing to install and not let you go any further. The fact is that they reached to the point where they are able to upgrade/downgrade, but why do they cancel, simple point, they themselves said they are not finished. If they upgraded it would probably show their PSP getting bricked, and then what would you guys say, oh yea their full of **** , they bricked their own PSP and all that other b.s. That is why they also didn't have an AC plugged in, because it would start to downgrade and possibly brick their PSP. Also because they are able to make the update run doesn't mean they are able to run unsigned code. You do realize it's an eboot and the PIC1.png and ICON0.png can be changed without causing a conflict. Also from Seargant007's work isn't he able to run the update also on his 2.0 (exactly) the problem he encounters however is that it tells him, his firmware is higher than the update. Feel free to continue complaining as I'm sure most of you will, but do me a favor and read through what I said a couple times to grasp these concepts. Oh and most importantly just wait until they release a final product!
It's amazing how desperate everybody has become. You'd think that the whole world revolved around Yoshi and his downgrader or something.
This is what guys like Yoshi live for, to be talked about. They don't care if you say they're gay or if you say they're gods, they just want to be talked about.
Maybe Yoshi has a downgrader and maybe he doesn't, but you all have made sure that he goes to bed with an erection every night just by arguing back and forth about him for nearly two weeks now.
I agree with testereto. Youv'e gotta be blind not to see the edit half way through. He has all the time in the world between edit to change psp or do whatever he pleases. This kind of cover up is surely to keep the punters hoping so giving more time which = more money via donations.
The edit is real. Why they have done it is beyond me. Kinda hard to think of any other reason but the worst..
Downgrade video showing v1.5x or above being taken to v1.50 is surely what everybody wants. I'm sure the people who donated would like to see a few PSPs being bricked on video to ease the concience...
Forgive me from being suspicious, but this doesn't proove anything.
I'm not trying to discredit yoshiro or WAB though, I'm just asking myself "okay... wtf was the point?".
Also, I don't understand why the camera has to move (look at the record light) when the black screen is on. I'm not accusing anything, but if I were someone to make a fake video, moving the red light at that moment would be the perfect opportunity to attach a different video of a different PSP. Again, I'm not accusing, it just seems odd.....
Maybe it's just me.
Anyways if this is legit, good work!
You guys are pissing me off...when i get my video camera, i will make a video, showing EXACTLY what he shows. I have no knowledge of editing software, and there will not be a PSP switch, because i only have 1 PSP. Its version 2.00.
OR
Just do it yourself...get sarges file...and run the dang file. Its not hard.
@GodMedia LMFAO thats hilarious and I agree with you, I read through these posts to see what people have to say and what not and I felt the need to write what I wrote. It's hilarious but so annoying to see how these people argue back and forth over this topic redundantly.
@Zenny Ha ease you say, trust me, some of guys won't be eased, they'll find a way to complain or find fault and even more useless posts (probably such as my own) will continue to be posted. The first thing that'll come out of their mouths after seeing a PSP being bricked is OMG, he's gonna ask us to donate more money and etc....ha if I were them I'd ask you for money too so you can be eased by watching me brick a PSP, one btw that you probably helped me to get.
@Mystik (sorry for spelling wrong) I'm wondering how are you gonna record the same thing. You are aware that it's impossible for you since you have no editing knowledge or hacking knowledge unless you use some of their footage. You aren't gonna be able to reach to that point in the video on your 2.0, so you should spare yourself the trouble of going through all that hassle.
Long story short no one will ever be happy, there will be those complaining about it being fake and cracking jokes on donating, there will be those who are gonna defend Yoshihiro & WAB til the dying end. I rather be the thin line in between trying to correct the misinformed. Nonetheless at the moment a downgrader doesn't affect me (1.5 US) or probably half the people who post in these threads. I'm sure it's because of doubt, but damn a lot of you guys need to look at the point of the video which I posted about previously and not all the small little details about lighting and etc... it's not the purpose.
How can ppl have so little respect for the wab and psp-dev crew?
They just proved that you can run a homebrew downgrader on version 2.0 and 1.5x and ppl still talk *****?
Later today...ill do this LIVE for anyone who has MSN. Seriously.
Like someone said, the red light in the screen of the psp disappeared. Maybe he switched psp's or something right there ? Anyway, if he can get unsigned code to run on 1.5+ why doesn't he just launch a homebrew app on it then ? Why would you want to downgrade if you can play homebrew on 2.00 ? I'm just following this for the heck of it, my 1.50 is fine for me :p
poor choice of language and content

it's not the same. run sarge's update if you really want to, but you'll get the error message that says "you're already updated to the latest version of the system software".
@empulse - There are better ways of getting you point across without resorting to flaming and certainly that picture you linked to is not appropriate for this site. We'll see you in 48 hours. Please read the posting guildelines in my sig.
Let's make this perfectly clear: It Jeff's job, as well as Mike and Dan's, to be present in "newsworthy" IRC rooms, as well as frequently visiting site like WAB for new info. You seem to be under the impression that you're the only one in these IRC rooms or that saw WAB's page. Just because you posted it at the same time hundreds of other people saw it doesn't mean they got the info from you.Zitat:
Zitat von PS2MAN
This is ridiculous...I hope the naysayers get their PSPs bricked. It's so easy to look for edit points on the video but I seriously can't think of why in the world WAB and PS-DEV would create a video that fakes a downgrading process. For what? What do they win? I thank this coders who don't let childish and pointless comments affect their daily coding lives. Kids piss me off. And this forum is full of them.
Maybe he *isn't* running unsigned code.Zitat:
Zitat von Russ8825
Maybe he first runs a hacked version of the upgrader (which would be unsigned) and just as the PSP checks the file for legitimacy (signed or not) a mem stick swap is performed and the PSP mistakenly reads an official upgrader, therefore returning a positive and an A-OK. Just when that happens, maybe the first mem stick is swapped back to perform the actual downgrade.
If that's the case, homebrew wouldn't work, because there exists no "signed" homebrew.
Maybe the order is different. Maybe it's not quite that. Maybe it's not that at all. Point is there are too many maybes.
Cordy these are forums, I can express my opinion.
The video has been edited, are you saying it hasn't?
15mb free to 17mb free.. how's that happen?
The video I saw of the guy doing the memory card swap would have look identical if u had chosen to edit out the swap, he also didn't choose to do the downgrade from what I saw of it.
We all want the downgrader to be possible, I wouldn't be here if I didn't want to see one available. But all I've seen so far are videos with edits in.

what I would really like to see is the *****ers and moaners get the downgrader, then have their PSPs bricked.
patience is a virtue, apparently, none of us have that anymore.

theres so many possibilities on why that could have happened. just pointing fingers and zeroing in on one possibility without any proof makes you just as bad as everyone else.
