Im sure if would only add files to the mem stick instead of delete 2 megs worth of stuff just from running the program and then exiting out of it.. And for the sake of the people saying its real, if you know its real woo hooo why are you so scared of people saying its fake and then come out with a really crappy version of proof why dont you just give the people that arent afraid to brick there psp your current files and let them do it. Stop making really bad version of proof and then accidently moving the psp around while trying to load it or something or showing just the psp while you are recording stuff that makes them seem extremely fake

wait, wait, wait. before the 1st yoshiro claimed to have successfully downgraded and also that beta testers had had some success, some bricks. now they say they haven't downgraded any psp's??!? psp-dev said no need for 2 ms or 2 psp's, but it's clear to anyone with eyes there is a swap going on in that video. they need to get thier story straight. the fish is getting rotten, I can smell it.

Ok is not soo hard to just make a video of the hole process!
with light offcourse so we cna see if they change anything on the psp.
WAB! do that and we are most probobly all going to shut uP!

I'm new to this forum and also to the PSP scene but I followed up the whole story in different forums and on the WAB-IRC Channel.
First I have to say that I believe that the downgrader is real and it will come out anytime. Tho I was wondering, why the new video is split vertically after the screen went blank - it looks to me like it was edited (which doesn't mean that it's fake - maybe they just did cut out some needless parts!)
They surely didn't switch to a different PSP because the MAC adress is the same.

Anyway, WAB and PSP-DEV have proven that they know what they're doing and there is no reason to be sceptical.
Keep up the good work and ignore people wasting their time by flaming you.

I still think they should atleast show us a downgrader in progress. We could ID its the same PSP by MAC, but then they have to use a 2.0 with browser. Still they could just start on a 1.5 and sneaky upgrade it and show the video shots reversed (show the 2.0 first and then show the 1.5). Would be stupid to wast a 1.5 though. But perhaps it was real...

For me it's real, i can't wait until this is finished. And for those who don't think it's real, go ahead do your own downgrader, or shut up ! I am afraid you piss them off and they won't release anything. I just want this downgrader released so that euro ppl can play homewbrew :Jump:

I don't really care either way, if its released its released, I say let them take there time and make it safe.

What I really want this for is being able to go from 1.5 to 2.0 on the fly. That way, I can play new official games, then downgrade, then play homebrew, and back again.

flash memories have a limit of writing... sometimes thousands... but who knows which is the life of the flash memory of the psp.

Anyhow... im still not convinced, maybe I'm just cynical be there just seems to be too many ways in which the video can be edited, or elements that would prove the firmware version aren't included ( like showing the browser ).

However, WAB could be knowingly doing this just to gain more and more attention and make more speculation about the program.

You mean if you downgraded with your EU 1.52 and then upgrade to 2.0 and then use wab's downgrader : Yes

I mean the wab downgrader isn't actualy downgradung,it's just changing a bit of information in the firmware to enable homebrew to be played.I am thinking if i "downgrade" isn't new SONY updates going to confict with the fact that there is something strange about the firmware. if it surches for the files that has to be changed but they are difreant and the new update wont find them and wont let us update.That's what i am worried about.
And another thing CAN I UPDATE RIGHT NOW??? is it totaly 100% confermed that i will be able to "DOWNGRADE" with ver EU 2.0??

I would say nothing is confirmed right now. However, nothing gets escaped being hacked. Even even the wab downgrader doesnt work on EU 2.0, it will still get hacked eventually. They said 1.5, will never be hacked. They said 1.5x, never be hacked, and it looks like it will be soon. So eventually, 2.0 will be hacked, thats why I updated.

It is not confirmed until the downgrader is actually released. The belief is that it will allow the user to downgrade from 2.0 b/ until it has been tested and released we do not know only the developers know. What I want to know is if 1.5s are still in some stores. I would either brick out my 1.0 that I converted to 1.52 when i bought Namco (Best Buy 2 yr warrnty) or have 2 PSPs.

Is the downgrader a proper downgrader so will it make my PSP like a 1.5, or will it still have the features my current firmware has(That firmware obviously being 2.00)

You will lose all of the additional features of 2.0 (Web Browser, AVC, etc.).

Its all speculation as to what the downgrader does.

Although, if its a downgrader in the proper sense of the word, your 2.0 will change to become a 1.5 system. I'd suggest that if the downgrader is just a simple flash of the PSP bios from an update file (given that the update files aren't technically 'updates' but more bios snapshots) - that you won't be able to get your 2.0 browser on the 1.5 version.

Although, i'm sure homebrew browsers would probably be on the cards (if not already)

Some store out in the "sticks" may still have 1.5 PSPs. Will the 1.5 run homebrew. I bought my PSP the evening that they were released b/ upgraded when i bought Namco. Since i have the 2 yr Best Buy warranty I should be able to trade for another or buy another PSP b/ what is the chance that there are any 1.5's out there???
