Default Firmware 5.03 TIFF Exploit Is HERE!

Firmware 5.03 Says Hello World, TIFF Based Exploit Released

Looks like PSP-3000 units are even closer to running homebrew (Along with everybody else who has no access to pandora and is looking for homebrew via software exploit).

The exploit is run from the PSP’s photo menu, taking advantage of a vulnerability found in the TIFF image library. Should be quite a familiar process if you were around back in the heyday of the PSP scene, when software-based downgraders were all the rage. Nonetheless, installation instructions can be found in the included readme file. Note that the current version will function only on PSP-1000 units. A separate release is being prepared for Slim models, specifically the PSP-2000 and PSP-3000.

According to MaTiAz, “a bit of awesomeness” is due out within the coming days, so keep your eyes peeled. After a long wait, the gates to homebrew access on firmware 5.03 have been opened up.

Hahaa, great work!

After a long time without any exploits, we've now got.. what, 3 different exploits in a few months? Not sure, 'cause I don't follow the PSP news as closely these days as I used to..

Anyway, time to dust off my PSP! Official firmware here I come x-)

megaupload.com/?d=QCCSQNNA

that's the right exploit, MaTiAz has uploaded not the right h.bin. That is the right one.

No that's not it. Did you read what I wrote underneath it? You must remove the spaces (which are translated to %20 if you click it) in the URL for the link to work.

Well yes it's like an open window for now...but it's only a matter of time until someone goes inside and opens the door...

Actually it wouldn't be 5.04 since 5.05 is released for that one Japanese game and I'm pretty sure that the exploit isn't patched for that firmware either so I'm guessing we can expect either firmware 5.06 or 5.10?

If this is compatible with the OFW 5.03 then you could be looking at Offical Firmware Homebrew.

But why the **** is it so unstable

Default Anyone got it working on 88v3?

I think, i have TA-88v3,,, tried the tiff exploit and it doesn't do anything but freeze and shutdown with a pop sound.

release said that i must try few times,,,but there is no point if it doesn't work on 88v3s; otherwise i'll keep trying.

Is 1C6001 old school? The one that's collecting dust under my night stand or somewhere?
