Default Sharp LCD screen vs. Samsung... Samsung is better???!!!!

Yep... FINALLY got my own PSP... a JAP 1000k purchased during launch in surprisingly complete Value Pack condition (all materials were left mostly intact)... and there is something on my new one that is not on my brother's 1001 PSP... something called PlayStation Spot.

That's not the most surprising thing about it. As it turns out... the sticky square was no issue at all... no stickiness as far as I am concerned. However, I remember back in 2004/05-ish, there was a rumor that the Sharp LCD screens as I believe I have on my JAP PSP made in Japan were better than the Samsung ones on the "made in China" PSPs as my brother has. Unfortunately... I find the opposite is true! For example, under the "Original" (new) theme, the one with the dual sine waves in the background as opposed to the multiple ripples in the "Classic" theme, when run in Yellow, I find that my Sharp LCD screen's picture looks a bit washed out compared to the crispness found in the Samsung. I'll put up a photo later... feeling kinda lazy right now. I'm not disappointed or anything... just wondering why the rumor was incorrect.

screens differ from PSP to PSP... I had a near-to-launch-date Slim, it semi-broke up, and bought another one 1 year later. I found that the first's screen has... um, how to put it... "white that looks actually white", while the 2nd one has some kind of brownish tint (very light, but noticeable). I got used to it, but at first I was like "YEAAARGHHH".

for the 100x series, I couldn't see if there was a difference, I didn't know too many people with one.

Well I would have figured that you would get a range of differences... although I would expect there to be a general leaning towards the Sharp LCD being slightly better in most cases... as I have found the Japanese to be very elitist in how they keep the best PSPs, Nissan GT-Rs... etc, to themselves.

What is this PlayStation Spot stuff anyway?
