PSP DOWNGRADER 1.5x-2.0

Hello! I'm newbie here, and i'm spanish...sorry if my english is very bad!

Yesterday I download from edonkey a file was named...

"Official WAB and PSP DEV Downgrader for v1.5x & v2.00"

In fact, is a rar archive...I decompress and i can see 2 folders and 1 file...

This is the structure:

oks...when I've openned readme.txt shows this text (I copy entire text):

People of this forum...my question is...

THIS IS A FAKE???? or IT'S REAL??? or IT's a STOLEN SOFTWARE FROM WAB OR PSPDEV TEAM???

It must be fake so don't risk running it or it will brick your PSP. If it was real you will hear it first in this forum.

My guess would be that it's actually an upgrade to 2.00, or something dumb like that.

I think that it's a fake...but the size of the files is perfectly to keep in a MS - 32 mb...

I don't put the files on my ms or psp...

It's possible that these archives are the same of DOWNGRADER VIDEO????

I put the 2 files on my MS now...and i'm going into MS -> and appears...Update PSP ver 1.50...i can't exec the pbp...if anyone wants the downgrade and look the files...I upload rar file anywhere you want...

Give me the downlad link and i will analise the file. I will extract the eboot and see whats in there.

It's sure not the WAB downgrader because that one doesn't need 2 ms.
This is confirmed in an interview and in the video's.

I was already wondering where the fake WAB downgrader files were, I'd expected them much earlier.

(I don't say this file is fake but it's certainly not WAB's and I am also not saying that WAb's downgrader is fake because it is real. And to give not all credit to WAB I will also mention PSP-DEV once.

PS: Am I the only one who has smilies that are not working TODAY!!!

ok i can rujn the hacked eboot on 2.00 with no error warning! but i'm too scared to swap the second memory stick in incase it bricks something

What it does is it goes to a black screen when ure supposed to enter the second mem stick with the legit 1.5 update

but i dont want to because i'm a scared, some else try this!?

Well, I have been thinking lately that due to the popularity of this hack and the fact that there are supposedly beta testers, it stands to reason that it could certainly get leaked... This leak though could be at any stage in the development process, who knows. The reference to the two mem sticks seems to hint at that as well. Hmmmm....

You are 100% right.

This file isn't the WAB and PSP-DEV downgrader.
Maybe it's an old WAB downgrader test, but the new downgrader doesn't need 2 sticks.
the old video's do have a black screen but still even if this is a working downgrader don't use it becasue it has not been officially released so that means it is not stable.

that fake has been out for days and yes I've tried it on my eur psp 2.0. it starts the 1.50 update after the swap and then says "you already have a newer version". might as well lock this thread.

YEa if it was working the scene (maybe world) would have turned up side down and everyone woud talk about bricked psp and succesfull downgrades.

It won't brick your psp damnit! I just said i tested it. it's just the usual 1.5 update on the second mem stick. It just doesn't start, thats all. go ahead try it everyone. please lock this thread.

I have just analysed the downgrader. It is made using the old crap theory people were suggesting weeks ago.

MS1 => Contains a small EBOOT.PBP which has two files PRAM.SFO & ICON0.PNG.

PARAM.SFO has set the Variable on line 14 UPDATER_VER to 2.01 which means it my pass the initial security check. But i dont think it will run, thats why the screen goes blank as there is nothing to execute.


MS2 => Contains the official JAP 1.50 EBOOT.


DO NOT TRY THIS AS IT WILL BRICK YOUR PSP. :naughty:

again.... I tested it and it won't brick any psps. the update will stop before you can do anything! IT WON'T BRICK ANY PSP.

You are lucky as its all about memory card swap timeing. If you swap just before the screen goes blank and second memory card executes correctly it will run JAP 1.50 firmware which will brick your PSP.
