i have been browsing the firmware dump and went into the certificate folder. i have found out that the certificates only last untill 2028. heres a screen shot.

can anyone confirm this?

EDIT: i dont think this is in the right fourm if its not, mods plz move it.

i dont think they're implying that it will last until 2028, i think they're just guessing it won't last until the year 2028. i dont blame them, how many of you still regularly play your magnavox oddyseys? exactly

Yeah, I'm pretty sure something else will be out within a few years that will make you never want to see your PSP again.

It's already out. They call it firmware 1.51. In fact, they've even release sequels ;o

It won't last as long as 2028, but its gonna take a long time for the PSP's graphics and stuff to be matched with a PSP 2 or something. If you follow the playstation releases we'll see PSP2 in 5 years time

I say they'll probably have some sort of mini hdd for the PSP2. Mind you Memory stick people have said they make a maximum of 32gb on one stick

If sony has any brains what so ever their next psp will have a built in hardrive, something similar to the ipod; like a mix of the ipod and the psp. Obviously the next version of the psp will have better graphics ( and hopefully better games). Lastly, if umd's become popular enough maybe they'll release UMD burners so we can burn our own pirated games instead of uploading them onto our memory stick.

1. Why would sony want us to burn pirated games?
2. if you add the size of the psp to the size of the ipod you end up with a jazzed up gmaes gear.

the next portable popular system will probably be a little bit bigger like .2 inches all arund have a nice 20 or 40gb hdd obviously better graphics and alot more features. it would basically be what were dreaming up now. but then wed be dreaming up something else sooo... lets just what and see. and oh yea the PSP games are gonna be amazing now. burnout is simply amazing and madden could be good with the new games too i dotn wanna list em all too many that look good

i dont have a tv with the vhf hooks, so i cant play my oddysey

i cant belive that thing runs on d batteries

and my oddysey 2 is currently being taken apart by myself to build a custom case for it.

dude, by 2028, handheds will have built in back scratchers. the psp will be gone by 2015. replaced by the all new PSP!! (portable $ex partner)
