Sticky this for me?
Hello everyone. I want to make something clear to those who wish to donate. While MPH/etc. should be proud of the downgrader, it took very little time to produce. This is not an insult -- it's a GREAT solution to our problem (however, I wouldn't have touched that work with a 100 foot pole due to DMCA fears)! However, I do think it would be wrong to send him buckets of cash (since I, being the author (in the sense that I crafted the files/experienced custom code under 2.0 first) of the original buffer overflow exploit, feel against this). I had a lot of help with the buffer overflow exploit (for anyone who would care to know). Some people helped a little, a few in particular helped A LOT (you know who YOU are). I cannot prove to you that I am who I say I am... but I hope you will understand that we chose to remain anonymous. I ask that if you don't mind donating, please donate to a charitable foundation instead on our behalf. Suggestions include:
The American Red Cross:
Or possible some Japanese charitable foundation (I am not aware of any -- any suggestions? The PSPs nation of origin is Japan afterall).
Let's see how much we can give. Call me cheesy if you wish. Those organizations will spend the money better than we ever could. Go ahead and post regarding your donations (even if it's only a few bucks). Also, just for clarity, I did not author the toc2rta manifesto that was released with the original exploit. I will not post again providing more proof as I've got none, and I don't care to be found out. Also, please post this at other PSP news sites for me (I'm currently out of state and stopped at Wi-Fi spot to post this).
