Lightbulb What do I need to start my own Homebrew Games?

Ok, I really want to create games in the future. However, it'll take many years to actually work for a company. But I understand all of that.

Anyways, I want to get started on my own games now. I was thinking of a 2D game. I have no experience in coding or anything. But once I know all the stuff to create a 2D game (especially for the PSP) I'll dedicate myself to learn the language. I don't care if the language is difficult. I believe anyone can achieve their goals as long as they try their best and do their research.

Btw, I'm going to get a group of 2 or 3 other people (they don't know coding or anything). I'll ofcourse be the head honcho of the group.

So what do I need to know to start creating my very own homebrew games? Are there any 2D homebrew games (for PSP)? What language do I need to learn?

Thanks!

If you want a simple PSP coding language to start off with, try LUA. Good luck on your project.

Thanks! I'll check it out. I was thinking of creating a 2D game similar to an SNES game or something. Can LUA create something like that?

As far as I know LUA can, I've never used it. But if you just want to make a 2D game you could probably find a turtourial online for C++ or Vis Basic
