Okay we all know about the firmware 2 exploit where you put certain files in photo folder, when you then go to photos your psp loads h.bin or if you dont have thr right wallpaper it freezes, Heres how you can use any wallpaper without psp crashing and be able to load the fw2 h.bin while also being able to view photos.
I suggest you test with the Hello World app. Required Files: frame_buffer.png overflow.tif h.bin Guide: The trick is on where you put the files. 1>Put h.bin (hello world or any other app) into the root of your psp 2>Put frame_buffer.png in PSP/PHOTO as usual 3>Create a New folder in PSP/PHOTO - call it HACK 4>Copy frame_buffer.png to PSP/PHOTO/HACK - you will now have 2 frame_buffer.png files on your memory stick 5>Put overflow.tif into PSP/PHOTO/HACK Now no matter of your background you can use your photo section. When you want to run the hack you can set frame_buffer as your wallpaper When frame_buffer is your wallpaper go into photos, you can use it as you would normally do for viewing photos etc To launch h.bin homebrew - Click on the Hack folder on the psp menu - it will list the images (frame buffer and overflow) and you will notice homebrew code runs aswell. As you have to do in overflow exploit, reset your psp by holding the power button for 3 seconds. Available apps you can use at the current moment are these: Firmware 2 Dumper v2 - v1.5 Downgrader Pong Hello World Also there are modifications of hello workd to display other text as well as a few demos. |

Garp has made a tutorial (stickied to the top of this forum section and linked in my sig).
Using the method in his tutorial, with the files he has linked, it is not required to use frame_buffer.png at all. Most people are cunfused as there was an update to the hack which no longer required it. |

I used the tutorial on the Downgrade 2.0 thread - only difference Is I used hello world h.bin not the downgrader - for general homebrew loading of tetris pong and whatever else is made, as soon as I click Photos my psp freezes with a red bar at the top and with the text Hello World -
If I put it in a subfolder, my psp freezes I want to be able to use the photo section too Last edited by xecuterbox; 10-01-2005 at 03:50 PM.. |

its ok dude, will be the day when real homebrew (eboot.pbp's) work on firmware 2, I just upgraded because the downgrader was out having a play with the exploit on that as well as all the web browsing features.
The downgrader has been huge, my web site regarding psp has got the 1.5 eboot hosted on it, as soon as the downgrader is out had lots of peeps downloading it, I just hope the hackers aint gonna give up on v2, all the extra features make it a great firmware such as a full featured browser etc etc, I never dared try it in the past knowing no homebrew |
