Homebrew firmware, a possibility?
Given the fact that the PSP firmware is updatable and that the psp can intereface with a computer, shouldn't it be possabe to pull the firmware files (EBOOT.PBP I belive) off the psp, then run it through something like a hex editer?
Theoreticly one could take the 1.5 firmware, intagrate the cool stuff from 2.0 minus the 'security' fixes, then tag it as somthing like 2.5 or 3.0 so that the psp would think it just another update from $ony.
Simmilar things have been done with other commercial software via a hex editer, so whay not here?
I'd give it a shot if I actully owned a PSP but for now I can only work with a theoretical viewpoint.
