Default Fake Updater (psardumper mod)

Since it seems that this moment is the boom of firmware loaders, i have created this litle tool to make things easier.

It's not more than a modified version of psardumper by pspset, with a diferent gui and that instead of writing the decrypted update files to out and outx without folder structure, it writes them to ms:/F0 with the flash folder structure, so yo can load them with a firmware loader that supports decrypted files. (note: you may still need a copy of your flash1. fake updater creates ms0:/F1 and its subfolders but they are empty since the updates doesn't contain any flash1 file)

You don't need anymore to extract the data.psar from the eboot. Simply copy the eboot.pbp of the update to ms0:/PSP/GAME/xxxx/UPDATE/ (where xxxx is the folder where you have fakeupdater).

This program does NOT write to the flash. It doesn't read it also. But it has the strings "flash0" and "flash1" in it, because it redirects name of files in the update from "flash:/xxxx" to "ms0:/F0/xxxx". (paranoics, see the included sources).

The download links: (this is a different version that the one i posted the other day in some thread. that one was based in a slightly modified psardumper 02. this one is based in 02A which has bugs corrected):

EDIT: updated with new files. Now it let you copy your flash1 to ms0:/F1 and let you choose if you want the update files to be decrypted or not by psardumper.

Very nice program, but couldn't you make it read the F1 from the PSP and copy these into the F1 folder? That would make it even better...

Best regrads!

Updated the first post with new files.
It lets you to choose if you want the update files to be decrypted or not, and copy your flash1 to ms0:/F1.

that sounds rare.it maybe because of the name of the folders to hide corrupt icons. i'll upload them again without those names.

I just extracted the 1.52 firmware, but it wont load with the SXT loader.
Is there anything I have to do with the files before I try to load it?

It works if you choose no when fake updater asks you to decrypt the update files. i think that sxt loader has problems with decrypted modules.

Very nice...the only problem is when it boots up (the sxt firmware emulator) my f1 configurations are apparently corrupted...

i run this on version 1.5 using 2.0 eboot, and all works fine, until i boot, it loads up the sony loading screen, then that blue screen comes up with error messages, could it be due to using 2.0 jap eboot with 1.5 us firmware?

Firmware is universal as far as I know, so that's not the problem.

For some reason this doesn't work for me at all, maybe because I've got firmware 1.0.
When I boot it up it asks me if I want to fake update, but the only thing I do is press X to go back, nothing else works and the screen only shows "press X to go back".

this might help me... i am going to try it...

Quote:

For all who gets the blue screen saying "press O for defaults" after loading the firmware;

The thing you need to do is,

1. Delete the "flash1" folder of the firmware you're trying to load, then create a new and empty one.

2. Restore system defaults on "1.50" firmware and don't change any settings after that.

3. Use FileAssistant to copy the contents of the the real 1.50 "flash1" folder to the flash1 folder of the firmware you're trying to load.

4. Use MPH Firmware Launcher to launch the firmware.

5. It works, no blue screen.

PS: You can do the same for 2.50 firmware.

MPH IS THE BEST !!!
