Some new loader images i made

get the tga here:

Instructions:

download and extract the rar, rename the one you wish to use loadmenu, then move the file to <pspdrive>/psp/game. then you have your new background, it will ask if you want to overwrite an old file if it has worked correctly

lol i can write the code for it, seen as i wrote this menuloader, with help from fanjita, or i could atleast try, i would prolly fail, but im pretty sure it wouldnt be much differnt to choosing the eboot, so i could reffer to that if i went wrong

well I'm confused. Mine still just has the black background like in the old one. 08 doesnt work for crap...

I tryed my own but now images wont work, all im getting is garbidge in the background.

jay c it does, he posted an updated version which works with almost all the homebrew on 07, also do you have the loadimage.tga and loadimage.pbp in the right place?

and AJ, you need to save it as 24 bit not 32

I did, but they were showing up in the list of eboots and my background was still black. I'm going to try the patch later however, as I'm still using the original version and cannot get any of my eboots to launch anyway.

i deleted mine the put the oridginal back and it did the same. had to replace the whole game folder from the loader.
Forgotten how to do 24 bit, cant rember how to decress color depth.
can-you-fix-it-for-me?(jimmy savel?)

I've just discovered a bit of a problem; my L33tH4x0r skin doesn't work, it just goes to a black screen and freezes. Have checked the file and rebuilt it, it should be fine. Still won't work though :/ so I'm removing it...

All the others work so I'm baffled

I suspect you're not using the right TIF to launch it. Or maybe your don't have the new loadmenu.pbp in the right place.

Double check that you're using the final 0.8 release, plus the L08 patch, and that the files are in the right places based on the info in the README.

Custom tga's not working here either, not 24bit at least. I'll try 16/32bit.

I downloaded a custom background, the Nippon background from the second post in the thread. It works perfectly.

Make sure you're saving as uncompressed, not RLE. Must also be 24-bit, 480x272

If you're still having problems, send me your TGA file and I'll look at it.

EDIT: I took off the Beach one because it wouldn't show up with the EBOOT Loader. I added 2 more instead

Try flattening the Image before saving then save on 24-bit.

Bt in fact, when I try to launch the ebootloader with a custom background it wont load. I tried your first bg, replaced the old one, and after a short white textmessage the screen stays black until the psp shuts off.

Any ideas ?

Ok does this ONLY work in v.8 eboot? or can i use those backgrounds in v.7? just making sure..i put the TGA stuff in my game folder but its still black or something..

Whoops Seems to be an error in my Images. I'll fix them in a little. Look for an edit. As of now the only one that works is the "Island with House" one.. I named it loadmenu3

Yep the nice-looking menus only work on 0.8 and beyond.

If you wanna make your own you have to have a program like Photoshop. Personally I use Photoshop 7 but there's also CS and CS2. You can probably buy it at your local electronics store for around $200-500

Or... you can be a pirate. You basically need to make an image thats 480x272 pixels and is a .tga with 24-bit. If you can find another program that will save an image like that then thats all you need.
