Talking The Icarus Project (fun puzzle game)

The Icarus Project is a remake of a great, but little known, puzzle game called Daedalean Opus (aka Puzzle Road in Japan).

Daedalean Opus was released by Vik Tokai, for the Nintendo GameBoy, way back in 1990. Due to its unpronounceable name and weird-looking box art, this game did not receive much attention from the public.

However, the gameplay is actually very fun, and well suited to the portable format. In fact, it might just be the best puzzle game you've never played.

The Icarus Project keeps the same gameplay as the original game, but the levels, graphics, and music have all been redone for the PSP.

The Icarus Project features:

- 15 levels, each one more challenging than the last.
- High-Quality graphics, unique to each level.
- Music from Vivaldi, Bach, and Corelli, rendered in classic Chip-Tune style.
- Highly polished controls and menus.
- Automatic progress saving.
- Hours and hours of very addictive gameplay (You've been warned!).

download from here: http://www.chaosmachine.net/studio/icarus/

stand-alone and luaplayer versions available. should work on all firmware versions up to 2.0 (with luaplayer eboot loader), but has only been tested on version 1.5. please let me know if you have any problems with it.

looking forward to your feedback

This game is addicting @_@!

May I suggest something ?

Could you possibly consider adding the ability to switch out the music with our own? Hearing vivaldi over and over can get annoying sometimes, since it's in 8-bit or something

this is already possible, but with certain restrictions.. luaplayer only supports .xm files (a variation of .mod files, aka tracker music). if you have your own .xm files, you can put them in the "mus" folder with the same filename format (ie: 1.xm, 2.xm, and so on..). if you want to use more than 5, you can edit the lua file in the main directory (script.lua or index.lua depending on which version you have).. just change the line that says "songs = 5" to "songs = 10" or however many you have..

here is a good place to find .xm files (not all the files are .xm, but there are hundreds.. check the 'altered perceptions' section as well..): http://www.modarchive.com/

it sounds like the eboot isn't finding index.lua in the main folder. which version of windows do you have, and what did you use for unzipping the file? are your filenames in lowercase or upper case in the psp's folder, and did you rename anything?

your folders should look exactly like this.. same files, same locations, capitalization, and everything. if anything is different on your version, please let me know.
