Okay guys, I think I figured out EXACTLY why the crashes and how to fix them without deleteing ALL the images,
The Game seems to not run interlaced png's, so you have to find out which banners are interlaced and either deinterlace them with a good image editor or just delete them. Open each mix of songs, and each time you reach a song that crashes you (not the one you're on when you crash, but say you're on song 1 and hit down and it crashes, still showing song 1, song 2 is the song that crashed you) , find the banner image for the song (the png without the -bg) and delete or deinterlace it.
Also, a reccomendation - Let us enable usb mode in the game, and test the png's before trying to display them to reduce crashes
Great game guys!, I REALLY love it! :Punk:http://playbluefire.com/blog/sig/Rbf_signature.php
PM me any other quotes you find on the forums. :)

I'd buy it! After all, its gonna take me forever to download enough songs to satisfy my hunger. Of course, dont expect this unless the people who made DDR decide to take a hint from this great release.

Also, Oomsha, I tried to download your pack and it just redirected me to the main page of filefront.

I have some problems with it, it doesnt read stop arrows, like max 300, ecstacy etc.
If you use the pink arrows to make the song through stepmania pc, the pink arrows wont show up on the game.
Also sometimes it lags in gameplay, then the song doesnt match up with steps.

Songs that completelly stop the flow of arrows for a any amount of time throws the whole song off sync in PSPREV. So no max is playable that I know of. And I think only one Paranoia(eternal) plays.

Maybe DeNitro should code a 'quick fix' option, which de-activates all non-essential files (like banner images + BGs), so that we know which songs really work, and which just have image problems.

That would be very helpful, especially for getting the song packs together. Another helpful feature would be a pause button.

Oh, and call me a complete noob, but do the different colored arrows have any signifigance other than being "off beats"?[b] The Definitive MPH Firmware Downgrade FAQ

No they do not but, they can range from half beats to quaters, eigths, and even sixteenth beats. The harder the song the more "off beats" or "half beats" ect...you are going to have.

Please keep in mind although this is our first offical release this is still an unfinished version. As to respond to the errors... certain things were left out on purpose to keep our release date of thursady night. Here is a list of things and why they cause problems. They will be in the next version.
Yes - we did not include 'Stop' notes.
- so when the song reads in the notes are off sync
The note limit ATM is set to 2,000 for a given song if it is more then that it can either...
- crash the psp or screw up the notes with the beat
- (in the song select or in the game)
The PSP runs on an internal clock and until we find out how to reset it...
- songs will cut out from time to time.
-(when a song cuts out simply exit and restart the song it will work)
We have not yet included the support of diagonal banners or interlaced *.pngs.
-although in the score screen the title of the song is displayed in the banners place.
Speed mods we have figured out but decided to have it in the next release.
The more songs you have in a folder the more lag there is changing between songs.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
If this does not answer all the problems encountered...
please let me know if there are any other problems and we will be able to pinpoint the reason behind it. THANKS!!!
By the way the responce on this game is amazing and thanks for the awsome support. DeNitro and I are still working hard to finish up the FULL version. I think you guys will be more then impressed when you see what we have to add to this awsome game.
Idea: If anyone wants to start a website to handle all the comments and downloads and have a place to post high scores that would be freaking awsome ;)

Hmmm, I don't know if it's like this in Stepmania at all, but when you get a "good" on an arrow it keeps going off the screen, and ruins your combo. Don't enjoy this because it messes with your head to make you think you missed one...and then screws you up for real :P

A good isnt a high enough rank of a step to continue your combo.
so yes, it will keep floating to the top of the screen.

Did a little bit of beta testing. Some songs PNGs are perfectly fine. If you remove the PNGs and the song still freezes the reason is becuase the .DWI or .SM file is crazy big.(50+kb) Songs that work flawlessy have .DWI files and .SM files lower than 11kb.
In order to shorten the length of the DWI and SM files open them up in notepad and delete right after the ";" and where it says couple or solo. PSPREV doesn't support those modes so all that unused text is just building up in the PSP memory and the PSP can't take it.
