Thank you for all the great comments everyone! When Devin923 and I first teamed up and were brainstorming ideas for a new homebrew game to start on, the 3 ideas we came up with were a puzzle game, a side scrolling space shooter (may have turned into a sequal to AOTM) or this. We decided on this because we were both Stepmania and Flash Flash Revolution fans and there was nothing else like it on the psp, even in the stores (at least in the US). We started on the project the night I relelased AOTM v0.4a, and we wern't even sure how a game like this would turn out on the PSP. By the time we had the non-interactive demo out, we felt it was shapping up like it would be some fun. We got some great feedback from the demo, and pushed on. I'm really happy with how this first version turned out, and it's great to see so many great comments from players enjoying it :icon_smil

We'll probably know in a few days about how long the next version will take, and what features/fixes it will included. PSP Revolution doesn't officially have Theme support yet... but I see a few are people are already getting an early start on it :icon_wink

I tried REMOVING the images AND replacing them (incase the program needed the pictures) with the ATEEN's song's pictures that was bundled with PSPR, and it still crashes it...

The only files left in the folder is the mp3...(1.86MB if size matters) and a .lrc extension file which i don't know what it does, so I didn't touch it.

Open up the images in a graphics app (gimp) and reduce the color depth to 8bit indexed.
its very simple and every pack i downloaded from step mania.com site work after doing this.

I had an idea about the backgrounds. Most of the sets come with quite large backgrounds, and PSPR only displays the topleft part of it as the background. What if PSPR loads the whole file, and then pans/bounces the image around at the speed the music is travelling at? That would be very cool, though an option should be included to turn this of if desired.

ok skimmed the whole thread, still no answer (i think)
but why do some songs not sync up properly?
is it the banner,
song length,
or something.
id like to know.

Please keep in mind although this is our first offical release this is still an unfinished version. As to respond to the errors... certain things were left out on purpose to keep our release date of thursady night. Here is a list of things and why they cause problems. They will be in the next version.

Yes - we did not include 'Stop' notes.
- so when the song reads in the notes are off sync

The note limit ATM is set to 2,000 for a given song if it is more then that it can either...
- crash the psp or screw up the notes with the beat
- (in the song select or in the game)

The PSP runs on an internal clock and until we find out how to reset it...
- songs will cut out from time to time.
-(when a song cuts out simply exit and restart the song it will work)

We have not yet included the support of diagonal banners or interlaced *.pngs.
-although in the score screen the title of the song is displayed in the banners place.

Speed mods we have figured out but decided to have it in the next release.

The more songs you have in a folder the more lag there is changing between songs.

By the way the responce on this game is amazing and thanks for the awsome support. DeNitro and I are still working hard to finish up the FULL version. I think you guys will be more then impressed when you see what we have to add to this awsome game.

Idea: If anyone wants to start a website to handle all the comments and downloads and have a place to post high scores that would be freaking awsome ;)

Cool, right now I'm putting this game from my 32mb to my 256mb (becasue of the LUA OS error), and Im also putting LOTS of songs.. so this is really cool how people have PSPR downloads..

I was just thinking several releases into the future of PSPR, and I thought about having a PSPR dance format. This could include PSP specific moves like having the arrows go in a different direction (instead of down-up,they go left-right), which would mean you'd have to turn the PSP on it's side and just use the D-Pad. The PSP is the only system that could support this move, and it could be pretty cool if this were possible.
