I hope in the next psp revolution update; there is a player that can just play the songs when you want to just listen to them, and if it could access other songs in the psp/music folder, that would be really slick.

I don't think that's possible at this time, I may be wrong, but nobody has programmed any drivers for USB devices yet (to my knowledge). Your best bet is to buy PSP2TV which will allow you to use a PS2 dancepad as the controller. That would be sweet if it works.

I believe I've got the interlaced PNG problem all fixed. It's been a crazy weekend at work but I got to sit back down on the PC tonight and thats the first thing I looked into. Anyone with a song pack with a bunch of "bad" images want to test them with a new build?
Thanks :icon_smil

Umm. The song pack sucked. Deleted it along time ago.
Some bugs i can recall:
- Bmp change errors
- No Bmp freezes (A, Sakura)
- Only quarter and eighth note skins
- No letter grade

It contains:

Hey, Could we get a thread that just has song pack files in it?
Going through all these posts is tedious, I'll start one up if people actually use it...

You have to make a group folder.
Then inside that group folder you must take all the files for your song and put them in a folder
Hope this helps.

External pads WILL NOT work on usb, PSP is incapable of using the usb for external devices like pads and memstick(and ipod)
I found a bug But its not in your coding its in the source.
When you create a file on the pc for step mania it gives a bpm of
#BPMS:0.000=60.000; in the .sm file but on a psp it make the track sound like chipmunks.Geändert von AJB2K3 (11-21-2005 um 10:18 AM Uhr)

Yea I'm like addicted to this game already. I don't know how I'm going to get actual work done now. I was addicted to FFR and stepmania before but having all the songs and being able to play them wherever.. It's like crack. I'm completeting every song on heavy and oni stages... So deep, anubis ITG steps, across the nightmare... EVERYTHING I beat it. One thing I know I won't be able to beat is bag. That's just ridicoulous on 1.0 speed. Yea I'm glad I have a big MS card :> Once that stop note bug is fixed and cmods are added..I'm not sure If I'll buy another game... ever.... lolololol.

HAha same with me OomSha, all the songs are getting destoryed by us :)!
The thing im waiting for are the sync issues to be fixed, and a possible wifi multiplayer. That would be sick! Oh well gotta go for the smaller stuff and work up ;)

It would be very sick, but if it happens... dont let me know. I have 2.0 and I'm not downgrading back, even if it means being horribly jealous of you and your wifi portable DDR button-mash-offs.

Seems like there is something in the just released Beatmania port ( JzBMSPlayer) that shouldn't be in there:

man this is some hot ****. this will keep my g/f occupied for a good while.
wish it was a bit more compatable but i look forward to the updates.
seems to crash before i select a song for some of the songs i have tried to put on there, like 'sandstorm' and 'i like to move it'
but keep up the awesome work. this has a lot of potential
(even though its pretty damn polished already)!

Again, if you guys need songs, I have my stepmania folder backed up on filefront.
danstorage.filefront.com It has mixes 1-8 and is my personal backup that I uploaded. anyways, all thats left to make this solid is the timing issue. I think the next version is being polished up a bit, or, they've run into a wall, with the timing issue.
Just some future suggestions:
-Characters (not very likley, but would be awsome)
-Visualisations (not likley, but with psp advance's help, codecs could be sorted out)
-Better Timing (most eventual)
-Little things
-----8th n 16th note arrow colours (sometimes show and sometimes dont)
-----Allow to release hold arrows a bit early without getting a N.G.
-----A little music in the menus
-----Allow to scroll thru the list of songs and see the list as you go down
-----Better interface while selecting songs
-----Options menu :) -- (I wonder whats gonna be in there)
Thats just my input, but this games already brought me more joy than I could ask for.
Happy Holidays;
~dan

Is anyone actualy creating steps for this?
-
11-22-2005, 11:27 AM #235
It's Stepmania compatible, so most people probably aren't creating steps with just PSPRev in mind.
Zitat von AJB2K3
If you mean the packs people have been releasing, I haven't checked any of them out, but I doubt that people are releasing their own original steps instead of just repackaging the work of others.
Anyways, any feedback from people who've tried my In the Groove-styled theme? (It would help for future updates)

Great program, you just need to make it as fully featured and (relatively) bug-free as the guy doing the Beatmania sim. I prefer this over the Beatmania player because the file size is much smaller (easier on my crap 512, come on MSPD price drops!) per song and the key config is bearable.
One minor bug I noticed: there's something up with the ordering of difficulties in the song list. One file I played (Get Ready For This) had the song difficulties backwards (maniac -- trick -- basic). It still works, just reads em backwards.
The other thing to note is you need another color for challenge/smaniac steps. Otherwise though great program so far, keep it up. :)
So, beyond all this and waiting for the next version, anyone pass any "keyboard only" sim files, such as BMR's 'A' or anything Eggman yet? I'm working on it but not quite there yet.

Most of my harder and faster songs are about 1 second out of sync, making it almost impossible to get thru the song without screwing up big time. I wonder what the problem is, maybe an error with the delay of the arrows that come up at the begining of the song.

Yeah that beginning delay is really messing up some of my songs.. Great program tho.

I'm in the middle of making some steps, with my own banners and "series" theme called "Mortarmix Series".
Anyways, It's not songs that I've created myself, but songs that are lesser known, and hard hitting.
I'm going to do 1 or 2 from the Wipeout Pure soundtrack, probably Operatique and Hellion.
Also some underground goa and trance guys.
I'm hoping to have 4 or 5 songs, I'll post it soon, if any of you guys have custom steps, make a thread and hope it gets stickied.
Goddammit, I'm not gonna get anything done now...
