Default idea for hard drive

i have a 20 gig hard drive for moving big files.... i take it and reormat it to FAT with a 1 gig partition . i connect it to my pc and then connect the psp to my pc and (this is where it gets blurry) then run a file on the psp that redirects the ms0:\ to L:\ (hard drive) and this may be a stupid idea but at least its something

The point of this would be?

From what you just described you are transfering a file to the psp from a pc.

Anyone can do this with a usb cable.

Why the 1gig partition? the PSP can read up to 4 gigs. And why fat? the PSP (from what I read) can read fat32.

But yea, I don't really see the point in this

Whatever device you wish to use as an "external portable hard drive" would have to support full USB-on-the-go USB hosting capabilities. Such devices DO exist.

He can do it as usb, but the PSP cant browse the drive, it would only be useful for moving files to your memstick w/o a pc. It also wont work with an enclosure, since it cant do this, you'd need a protable hard drive that can be a usb host like a poster above said. ALSO- read the forum, this was 'discovered' w/ the portable hard drives that can do it, like a million years ago.

I know it's all supposed to be happiness and light on this forum so all the useful posts can be found blahblah, but hey mods: dumb posts also clutter the forum, just as bad as flames. So clean these up too, please, if keeping useful info easy to find is the actual reason for having the 'keep smiling all the time and dont flame people who refuse to read' policy.
