![]() PSPRevolution First off, this is kinda a joint effort. Some of the credit needs to go to fuziontab@nexopia as she helped me troubleshoot these theories. The reasoning behind this quick tutorial is to help eliminate the freezing issues in PSPrevolution. ![]() Start off by downloading stepfiles here (Registration required): ![]() once you have the stepfile you want, you need to make it PSP Compatible. Currently PSPRevolution has some errors handling badly formatted PNG image files... so we fix them first. Fire up photoshop/gimp/psp. ![]() your banner should be a 256*80 non-interlaced png file. (in photoshop create your graphic on a 256*80 canvas and when happy save as a png and select "non-interlaced" at the dialogue screen) "songtitle".png ![]() *sample banner follows spec ![]() Your background image can be any resolution smaller than 640*480 you like but for optimal fit on a psp you should make it 480*272 (Again as a non-interlaced PNG) "songtitle"-bg.png ![]() *Sample background follows spec now the fun part is over. You should now have 2 png files named as noted in bold. ![]() Lets verify your file structure. These are the only files you need/want. ie) My song is "Macerena" my file structure would be as follows: .../Songs/Songpack/ - Folder containing all the songs you would like grouped .../Songpack/Macerena/ - Folder containing the song .../Songpack/Macerena/macerena.png - Banner file .../Songpack/Macerena/macerena-bg.png - Background file .../Songpack/Macerena/macerena.mp3 - Song file (PSP does NOT support OGG) .../Songpack/Macerena/macerena.dwi (also supports .sm files) ![]() Upload the folder structure to your psp into the "songs" folder and fire up the app. If the song doesnt work it's not your fault... the "stepfile" isnt compatible (VERY RARE) so just get another version of the song and get moving. i would like to say.... ive noticed that psprevolution has a size limit of what it can load.... or its jus gay, like ive gotten it so i can open castles in the sky with the bg and stuff if i put it in its own folder and moved to it really fast and pressed x and it loads, but if i try to load it slowly it will freeze, also it will freeze if its in a folder with other files, but when i removed the bg and banner it loaded ><
ive noticed this with several songs also >< |

.sm files that don't work are missing the following:
#MUSICBYTES:1668075; #MUSICLENGTH:154.255; Those values are examples of what I added for "Attitude"; change them accordingly for the song you are editing.. you might have to experiment with the length value. Also, simply opening the image files in something as simple as Paint and saving it works; no special software required. |
